I was really excited to try this place out. Typically when I see the word taqueria I leave satisfied. This was not the case last night. I originally went because I wanted nachos but after learning what they put on them I decided to pass because I would have ended up with a plate of chips, meat, and guac. Decided to go with the Quesabirria. I was in literal disgust. The meat was not only seasonless, it was way over cooked and mushy. Basically roast beef tacos if you will. The queso tasted like watered down cheez wiz with some red pepper in it and the green sauce was so spicy neither one of us could enjoy it. The fact I spent $50 for 2 drinks, queso, and 6 tacos to not be satisfied is unacceptable. I pay less at a taco truck with way better quality and tasting food. We sat there for awhile with empty plates and no check. When we asked for the check we didn’t receive an itemized ticket so I’m not even sure I was charged correctly. We won’t be back.
Edited to add I was definitely overcharged and this is probably why no one receives itemized checks. I will be stopping by to figure...
Read moreWent here for the first time with the family a few days ago. The food was OK, service was a little slow even though they weren't really busy. But tbh we were all extremely turned off by the drinks. We ordered Cokes and they asked if we wanted regular Coke or Mexican Coke. We all ordered regular Cokes because we know Mexican Cokes come in bottles and are charged per bottle so we figured regular Coke would be from a fountain machine and have free refills like a normal restaurant. We were all extremely upset to discover regular Cokes are served in cans. For $3 a can. Menu doesn't state they're served in cans either. Absolutely ridiculous pricing for a soda. If you went to a vending machine that dispensed cans and saw it was $3 a can, you likely wouldn't buy it. After the first Coke, we switched to water.
Also, they do give you chips and salsa, but the bowls the salsa is served in are VERY tiny. I'd be surprised if you could even pour a ladle worth of salsa in them.
I ordered the chicken enchiladas as a meal, which was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary but nothing...
Read moreWhen I go to a Mexican restaurant the food takes on a secondary place for me, mostly because I am easy to please with my culinary tastes. I mainly go because I love Margaritas. Up until this day I thought I would never find a Margarita that I could not stand.. I mean I find one here and there that are okay, or not so great. However, this was an untolerable mixture of what tasted like chardonnay mixed with dollar store marg mix. Alas there are other things as well, like the poor waitress that was definitely waiting on EVERY table in the place. Hence why our drinks, etc. took longer than expected. Plus I felt the place was exceptionally warm (I do in their defense tend to run a bit on the warm side anyways, AC at 68..) the silver lining was that the food wasn't terrible. Compared to the Margaritas it was like eating at a 5 star restaurant, so that's something I guess. Over all I certainly won't be returning, but should you venture out to this little whole in the wall be sure to...
