I’ve taken my dog to the groomer here a few times and haven’t had issues, until this last time. First I would like to recommend groomers Sawyer and Zoe for their kindness and flexibility with my anxious pup during past grooming appointments. They never made us feel the way Rachel W did this most recent time. She was rude and upset that our longer haired golden doodle (rightfully due for a hair cut) had urine on his underbelly and that she had to shave him down. We have done this every time because honestly it is very challenging to keep up the brushing for him and he gets warm, so we want him to be comfortable and cooler. I will say I appreciated her mentioning a concern and to take him in to see the vet because she said he was constantly urinating and had blood coming out. We hadn't noticed any sort of blood or excessive urinating at home. We went the next day to the vet and it didn’t turn out to be a UTI, but the vet said maybe an early sign of a sheath infection, so we got some antibiotics for that. Picking our boy up from Petsmart, Rachel seemed fed up with him, annoyed and wanted us to take the receipt and go as quickly as possible. I’m not used to no compassion with people working with our furry friends and am very disappointed with this experience. He clearly was anxious and she was not the right fit for him, nor do I think we will take him there in the future because of how hectic it can get. So overall, not the right environment for him. Read moreMy son was getting his first pet and we came up to this PetSmart to get him a hamster. We had already picked up most of the stuff we needed at our local pet supply store, but they didn't have the kind of hamster my son wanted. When we were ready, we approached a staff member for help and this is where I met Lara. She was such a delight to work with. She was busy doing something else at the moment, but put it down and gave us her full attention. This was so important to me as this was a huge day for my son and I really wanted it to be a good experience. Lara asked me some questions about the setup we had a home and then gave us some more pointers. She made some suggestions on things/brands that we would be needing that I was unaware of. She also helped educate us in some care instructions. We had done a decent amount of research but she had some more nuggets of info that were helpful. I really want to give a shout out to Lara and give her a huge THANK YOU! I couldn't have asked for better service. She made my son feel special and really helped take the whole experience up a notch.

Read moreDisappointed. Didn't honor our appointment. Don't want cats. Grooming reservation section of website wasn't working; website directed me to call. I was elated to discover they groomed cats. We've been searching for 2 years. So I called and made an appointment for one of two business days my daughter would be home from college. (I have a new job and no time off yet.) Person on the phone alerted me to the need for my indoor cat to have updated rabies shots, more than 2 days before the service. I had the vet do that on my lunch hour more than a week in advance. My daughter gets to PetSmart and they have no record of the appointment. She shows them screen shots of the PetSmart calls. Doesn't matter. And they offer no way to reschedule on the days she's here and don't have anything available for several weeks. Plus, they discourage her from using PetSmart because there are so many dogs there, it might not be good for a cat. They don't have separate rooms for cats, and the cat groomer isn't there very often. The dog groomer nicely helps my daughter choose a shaver so that we can attempt to groom him ourselves.
