April has always been the reason why we visit this location and the reason why we choose Office Depot and Office Max to continue earning our business. April has always exhibited leadership skills in the way she treats her customers. It is the professionalism and the superior customer service the reason why we have been a repeat customer over the years! I feel leadership comes from the top and tonight my theory was tested to be accurate.
I am enormously impressed by what Office Depot Office Max does with it's customers especially at the Gastonia, North Carolina location. The staff is always courteous friendly and nice and extremely helpful!
Our recent visit we found Riley to be extremely knowledgeable and Management material for sure. Absolutely no doubt Riley is your next Team Leader and Upper Management. Riley exhibits all the qualifications for the leader position. I found Riley to be very thorough and he knows your business codes very well.
Geo was very informative and friendly. Always there to assist any customers by recognizing them before they even reached the counter and Geo's personality and outlook are so positive and bright.
Noah is very professional in always following up with his customer(s) by phone and via email to accurately notify us when our orders were ready as well as he took the initiative to send us an email notification as well as courtesy phone call when our order was ready.
We feel all four employees exhibit leadership skills and abilities and normally would not have taken this time to write you the email however we feel April, Riley, Geo and Noah went above and beyond their duties and would like to bring to your attention that we are enormously impressed with what you and your staff do here and would like them to be recognized by Corporate to be rewarded in some way that is beneficial to them so they may continue to be encouraged on the not so good days to know that what they are doing is appreciated and correct and I feel the biggest gift would be for your Corporate Division reach out to them personally with more than a thank you are doing a great job. I am empathically asking from the bottom of your heart would you please show some kindness and empathy in a way that shows you understand how someone else feels because you can imagine what it would be like to be that person on some days of long lines and irate customers. Today you have someone that recognized the good in what your most valued and most valuable employees do on a daily basis. Wouldn't you want something to do something nice for you too if you were in there shoes? Thank you for your consideration in advance. Thank you!!! That's all.
Respectfully,
Your Loyal Office Depot Office Max Consumer
Chris Hill

Read moreOFFICE DEPOT - you should know what kind of men Chris Walker and John Forman are! They are not interested in working at your store! I went to the Gastonia store while I was visiting in the area; I live in SC. I went here to get 2 books spiral bound. Someone took my books and told me it would take some time as they had to do it in between customers, I should leave them and they would let me know when they were ready. I explained I had to wait as I was from out of town. They cut the bindings off my books and walked away. I waited until all the customers had been waited on, then the 2 people who had been working, Chris Walker, the manager and John Forman, an employee, left the counter and stood within the first isle close to the counter. They did not touch my books! I stood and watched for about 10 minutes while they chatted and laughed without helping me. Finally, John Walker approached and said again I should just leave the books. I explained again that I had to wait; I'm from out of town. He went back to Chris Walker and they again began to laugh and chat. There had not been a customer for 10 minutes! I could not leave as they had cut the bindings off of my books when I first handed them over. Finally, another employee appeared and Mr. Walker directed April Musser to help me. She came over and took care of me immediately. There were still no other customers in sight of that counter! The manager and John Forman obviously are too good to help customers, they're too busy chatting! April Musser is the only employee, besides the ones behind the registers, who wanted to help me - the CUSTOMER. I will not shop at this Office Depot again because Chris Walker, the manager, is NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING CUSTOMERS! I have also told my friends and relatives that live in Gastonia and Belmont about the service I received and they should not bother to shop here! WAKE UP OFFICE DEPOT! Your manager, Chris Walker, and John Forman suck...
Read moreLet me share with you my interesting encounter at Office Depot, a rather absurd establishment in Gastonia, North Carolina.
The staff there seems to rotate as frequently as one changes their underwear. Half the time, they appear clueless about what they are supposed to be doing. And when they do know, they are remarkably slow and inconveniencing to anyone visiting the store.
The print center is simply terrible. It's a mystery how they manage to keep the store running with the sluggish pace at which they operate.
For a decade, I have followed a simple routine - sending my printing requests to the same email, walking in to collect my items, and leaving. But now, they expect customers to use self-service, essentially doing the work they are paid to do because they are too lazy to do it themselves.
To add to the frustration, when I emailed my documents as usual, they insisted on a new email address for the self-service station. This meant I had to go over there and handle everything by myself, with no compensation for my time.
It's incredibly frustrating when they make changes that only result in printing a few pieces of paper. Their facility does not allow for sending items from inside, forcing customers to step outside. I refused to resend my documents to a new email address and then proceed to the self-checkout for printing. The employee could have easily handled the task without any hassle.
When I requested that the employee do it for me, he flat out refused, insisting I use the self-checkout. This is not Walmart; I expect my documents to be printed efficiently. The staff should focus on doing their job properly instead...
