My wife and I drove an hour to get here because there are no gaming stores near where we now live. We saw online that this establishment carried Reaper and D&D miniatures, which we were prepared to spend quite a bit of money on since we won't be able to come down regularly.
We came in with our son (3 year old) but had him on a leashed backpack, as we usually do when we bring him to gaming stores, as he can be energetic. The store seemed quiet but welcoming at first, so we proceeded to look through their minis and I poked around to see if they had any obscure or discontinued games that I enjoy.
When I was looking around, my wife came under the gaze of who I assume was the proprietor. She followed my wife and son around and would not take her gaze off of them. My son was tired and whining, but he was on a leashed backpack, so there was no way for him to do anything. It was at this point that I came back to my wife, who was feeling distressed over being so closely followed and she inquired if our son wasn't allowed in there. We were told that wasn't the case...but continued to be watched like hawks.
The establishment no longer felt welcoming and we made the decision to not spend any of our money there. If you have young children, just be aware that this store will likely make you feel...
Read moreI asked them to pre-order me a book, but I remember being told they wouldn't do it. So, I pre-ordered it elsewhere...only to be told this place did it, and then got called rude for doing something as a result of apparently being mistaken.
Maybe I misremembered, though the fact that they proceeded to double down on how badly I APPARENTLY screwed up after I repeatedly explained it (they apologized before proceeding to do this) leads me to believe I made a horrible mistake asking them to pre-order anything for me to begin with, and it's only convinced me they worded it strangely and then blamed ME for misunderstanding their wording.
I'll still come here for what they already got, and the orders I already made, and the three stars is for the good selection they have, but after that experience, I will only ask them to order me the monthly comics, if I can even get that much.
But I'm...not too happy with them right now. They're skating on thin ice with me, and while I got an apology for being called rude, I've yet to hear even an acknowledgement that they might've worded it poorly. They're kinda skating on thin...
Read moreAfter living in michigan for 3 years now and visiting multiple lgs to play mtg and warhammer, I would have to say avoid this store for warhammer related anything. They held a painting contest that required a purchase of a model to be entered. Some models range in price from 35 to over 100 dollars. The first place prize after you've already spent money? A 10% off your next 2 purchases.....just terrible. So after initially spending money and then personal time painting the model, you are rewarded only if you spend more money, twice. Wow. Absolutely ridiculous and shows you they literally only care about money.
On top of this, the owner makes up rules on the spot because he doesn't understand how they actually work. And rather than even attempt to try to learn, he denies important aspects of the game entirely. Then if you correct him on how the game rules work, you get banned from playing. You can still come in and spend money, but not participate. No thanks, I'm good. There are plenty of other stores with far better warhammer ambassadors. Hope things change, if they do ill...
