I enjoyed my time spent here so much that I stayed the whole day.this courthouse is a monstrous monument of architectural beauty.the grounds were very well kept and provided plenty of space for lovers, families, friends and kids to pull out a chair or lay down a blanket and just enjoy the moment.there are park benches on every corner pointing outwards towards the boutiques and shops that create the downtown area. there are marble statues as well as some made of bronze with plaques all around to give you there history including that of the courthouse.while sitting there enjoying my day I was granted the privilege of hearing two different musicians street performers play a genre of different songs.there was a father playing catch with his son, mother's holding on to there new borns hands, while they directed them in taking there first few steps then when nightfall came a young debutante celebrated her sweet 16 with friends.while others frequented the establishments all around.there was plenty of shade for everyone and I can't wait to experience Georgetown in a whole new light...

Read moreVisited downtown Georgetown TX to soak up some of the history since its establishment in 1848. The centre piece has to be the majestic courthouse built in 1911 with the copper domed roof. Just across the road is the original San Gabriel Masonic Lodge with its "onion" shaped roof built in 1900 where the lodge continued to meet until 1982 when the building was sold.
