My husband and I have been coming here for years and absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere, but have noticed lately things have been taking a turn for the worst. It appears staff are overworked and under appreciated. We sat at the bar and the bartender seemed like she had just been thrown into a position she had no experience in (we always sit at the bar and this wasn’t our first experience like this). She was overwhelmed and the only one working on a busy Sunday. It was like pulling teeth to get her attention and we felt bad even asking her to place our orders. When the food came we had to wait several minutes before eating as we couldn’t get her attention for silverware and napkins. Not once did she even ask us if we would like another drink or if we needed anything else. We don’t blame her at all, we rather blame the management and the apparent lack of training and teamwork. I’ve been a restaurant manager myself and I have never witnessed a restaurant where the atmosphere was so negative. It made me and my husband uncomfortable just being there as you could tell the staff themselves wanted to be anywhere but there. We also overheard an altercation with the manager on duty with a server who came up to him and said “I need to go to the hospital, I’ll bring you a note.” and due to the managers accent I couldn’t hear exactly what he responded but it wasn’t as a manager should. The server then went to clock out and said “I appreciate you caring so much.” in a sarcastic tone. The manager then came back over to the server and said something else I couldn’t hear. As the server left she said something along the lines like “I’ve never been treated like that!” Again, I’ve been a manager myself and although it sucks to lose someone on shift especially in the middle of it, you should never respond to your staff member like that, ever. That altercation alone showed my husband and I where the problem lies at this establishment. We loved the food, but won’t be back until management is dealt with and trained how to run a crew and treat them...

The kids brought us up here after coming last weekend and having a really good visit. They were really excited and told us how good everything was. So we decided to accept an invitation when they asked if we wanted to go. The atmosphere upon walking in was very positive. Nice modern country decor, and everything looked very clean and presentable. We only needed to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. The menu exhibited the standard brunch cocktails and more than a few that had their own special twist. Most impressive of all was the Bloody Mary Bar. When ordered, you are brought a glass of vodka with a salted rim and are shown to the bar to finish dressing as you wish. Several mixes await you along with a wide supply of garnish, from the standard celery sticks and olives, to bacon and onion rings. HOWEVER, if you plan on ordering one of these, be prepared to wait for the bar to be replenished because the fixins go pretty quick. Migas, Eggs Benedict and pancakes were all present on the menu, along with a smothered breakfast burrito and a few other goodies as well. The waitress we had was friendly and welcoming and eager to offer recommendations and answered every question without hesitation. The food took a bit longer to arrive than I expected and wasn't entirely correct when it did arrive. One plate was ordered with scrambled eggs and bacon, but arrived with fried eggs and sausage. The waitress quickly apologized and said that she'd be right back with the right items. Later, a different waiter tried to deliver the bacon, but we were pretty much done by that point, so we returned it to the kitchen. And after that, the manager came with a plate of scrambled eggs, but by that time, we were ready to pay our bill, at which point he graciously offered to discount our bill. All in all, I might give it another try, but I wouldn't make another special trip like we did...

Always a great place for friends and family. No matter what the occasion, thers's always something on the menu for everyone and they are always willing to make accommodations for food allergies/preferences. Unfortunately, I have to update my previous review as a downgrade. I hope this will be temporary, as I really do enjoy eating here. I called 2 days prior to dining to make a reservation for 6 for a quieter area, as 2 of our party have hearing problems (both are partially deaf). The person confirming my reservation suggested the patio, saying it would be the quietest area. I asked about a private dining room mentioned on their website, and she said the patio is their private dining area. So I booked the patio, after spelling my last name for her twice. When 3 of our party arrived early, for my husband's surprise birthday party, they were told there was no reservation for anyone under my name, no reservation for the patio & if they wanted the patio there would be a 1 hour wait. This was a birthday dinner for my husband, one of the partially deaf individuals. Our friends were then seated in a far back corner, neither my husband nor our other partially deaf friend could engage in meaningful conversation, so their evening was not as enjoyable as it should have been. After paying, I tried to explain all of this to the hostesses, but their response was that I should have made my reservation online because it's hard for them to hear telephone conversations to get accurate reservation information(!). Please update your website to include your patio for booking as it is currently not specified as such. My service rating had nothing to do with our server, who was just fine. We decided not to stay for dessert, because it just was not fun for my husband not to be able to hear. We'll get together for cake elsewhere at a...

I met a friend for lunch at noon today. She was early and was sitting at a table when I arrived. The restaurant was full but not packed. The waiter was friendly and not visibly disappointed that we both only wanted to drink water. I wanted a healthy option, so I chose a salad, but when he came to take our order, he mentioned that they were trying to add some vegan and vegetarian options to the menu. So today they had a portabella mushroom with brussel sprouts, butternut squash, rice and a pineapple pico. I decided to give it a try. It was delicious. Some places make vegetarian food way too spicy to disguise the fact you're eating vegetables. This was flavorful from a blend of spices and the flavors of the foods. I don't particularly care for butternut squash, but this was well done and in small bites. The brussel sprouts could have been crisper. The pineapple pico was delish! Also, our waiter remembered I wanted water without ice and kept the refills coming. He did a good job of tending to us but letting us visit. Good food. Good experience. I hope they add the portabella to the menu! Update, my husband and I went for lunch today (july 2019), and I ordered the roasted beets salad. It's my favorite ever. Hands down. Dressing is fantastic. Chicken is not just cold meat on a salad. It actually had flavor. I splurged and got peanut butter pie as well. I'm stuffed but happy. And $4 margaritas for lunch on weekdays. They do not skimp on alcohol when they offer specials. Beware if you're heading back to work after lunch. We love Blue Corn.

Bait & switch on the margarita prices We came on a Sunday afternoon and ordered 2 house margaritas, one frozen and one on the rocks. We were surprised to see on the check one $12 "harvest" margarita and one $8 house margarita, neither of which were the $5 house margaritas advertised on the sign outside. We asked the server about this and he said we had ordered the harvest margarita (we did not) which comes on the rocks while the house margarita is only available frozen. This directly conflicts with the menu we were given and the menu online, which says the house margarita comes either frozen or on the rocks. His explanation for why the house margarita was $8 and not $5 was that the $5 margaritas are called by a completely different name (I dont recall the exact name he used), and are not called the "house" margarita, which makes no sense given the sign outside literally says "house margarita $5." I guess we shouldve ordered "the $5 margaritas" instead of house margaritas, since the server managed to upcharge us by $10. Instead of admitting his mistake he asked if we wanted him to get the manager. We didnt want to make a scene over $10, but the point of this review is to warn others about their unscrupulous practice of upcharging customers. Tldr; Food was good but being upcharged for drinks and told we ordered something we didnt, and that the thing we actually ordered doesn't exist on the menu despite it being printed on the menu in front of us, puts a huge damper on things.
