Update: I have changed my rating from a 2 star to a 4 star. The manager of the salon responded after I had emailed them with my complaint; she apologized and offered to refund my money for the botanical repair treatment*
I'm definitely disappointed. I scheduled an online appointment over a week ago with Tonya for a partial highlight. I left a note on my appointment page stating that I wanted a partial highlight with a possible toner if needed. I got my confirmation for my appointment 3 days before my actual appointment. On the confirmation page I saw that my partial highlight was there along with a toner and some botanical hair treatment. The hair treatment threw me off because I never asked for it. So I emailed the salon and told them I saw that my appointment details were not what I originally asked for and I said I only want a partial highlight not the hair treatment unless it was included in the price. The response I received was "we will see you at your appointment". Figured okay whatever they probably took it off or it is actually included. So I showed up today at my appointment with Tonya. She was super sweet and I love my hair. HOWEVER, when we talked about what we were going to do with my hair she said, "oh I see we are doing a partial highlight, we include a botanical hair treatment in all of our lighteners, it's mixed into the product". She never asked if it was something I wanted, just said it was already included in the mix. So I took it at face value, to me it sounded like it was included, just their standard practice. So I didn't say anything about it. I have been highlighting my hair for 10+ years and have never had a hair treatment added or needed. Like I said I assumed it was their standard practice because that is how she explained it. Well I go to pay for my bill and I add a tip and leave because my hair looks good. I asked for a receipt because it seemed pricier than what I was quoted on their website. Sure enough there is a $30 charge for a botanical repair treatment.... What would have been a 5 star experience has now left me feeling cheated. I will be complaining to the salon and requesting this money back. This felt like a dishonest jab at trying to get me to pay more, except I was unaware of it. Iāve had a great experience with Jennifer before but this time around I wanted to try another stylist who had more availability options. I booked with Bella on 3/7 for a cut and all over color and had a mixed experience. She did a great job explaining the considerations of the hair inspo I showed her, and provided a great alternative solution in lieu of the scheduled all over color. However, things went south short after that.
Two primary asks for the service were: 1.) grey hair coverage and 2.) a haircut around chest length but preferably on the longer side. I feel like both werenāt executed properly. The color itself is great, but when I washed my hair the next day and pulled my hair back, I found a considerable amount of greys. Slight bummer considering the cost.
It was the haircut that was really upsetting. I scheduled both services with Bella and while she did the dry cut, she then sent me over to Kaylee to touch up the dry cut after my hair was washed. I didnāt notice until I left the salon since they curled/styled my hair, but after washing my hair, I found a noticeable lopsidedness to my hair and it was 2 inches shorter than I was actually comfortable with. The dry cut Bella did looked better and was the actual length I wanted.
I called the salon and the front desk told me to email the salon, but did nothing to try to help me get on the schedule to book a touch up appointment. By no means was anyone rude, it was just baffling how unhelpful they were even when I went by to the salon today to talk about it in person. I get the decision falls on the manager to decide how to take corrective action and that the salon was fully booked today so I couldnāt be seen until possibly next week, but a bit more willingness to listen wouldāve been appreciated. She just said to email the manager and that they'd āget back to meā. Itās not fun being left in suspense after spending $300.
At this point, Iām not comfortable coming back for a correction even if offered for all the reasons stated above; I donāt want to risk losing another few inches of hair / Iāve found another salon instead. Razmataz is one of those surprising gems of a Salon, especially Caitlyn, the stylist I had today!!! Caitlyn was outstanding ā¼ļøShe took the time to ask me questions about what I wanted, exactly. Discussed which hair color to use and why. She gave me, what I consider to be, the best hair cut Iāve ever had!!!!! I have thin hair and itās really not easy to cut AND to make it look full and well done. She did both!!!! I was really pleasantly surprised and thrilled!!!!! She is now my full time hairstylist for lifeā£ļøā£ļøā£ļøā£ļøā£ļøššššIāve really never been more satisfied with any hair service Iāve ever received in the whole 63 years of my life than I am with the cut and color I got today!!!! She was very professional, skilled, friendly and and efficient!! I honestly CANT say enough great things about her or my experience with the salon!!! I highly recommend Caitlyn, which by the way, I had never met before but was recommended to her by the receptionist when I called a few days before. I have never let anyone cut my hair or color it that hasnāt been recommended to me by someone whose hair Iāve seen and that I liked. This was a desperate exception and I could not be any happier with the results!!! As I looked around the salon, it seemed to me that all the other clients there were happy with their services too! From the receptionist to my stylist and the other stylists working there, they were all friendly and knew exactly what they were doing!!! The salon was clean and very welcoming!!! I moved to Georgetown a year ago and have tried 5 other salons and stylists! None of them compare to Caitlyn and her level of professionalism, friendly demeanor and efficient OUTSTANDING results!!!
