Came on a Friday night with hubby. Had a little wait but was sat pretty quickly. We had heard good things and wanted to try it out. Interesting spot … it smelt great with burgers cooking on the grill.

Noticed they serve breakfast - so will come back and try that. The “retro” burger spot has a cute diner type vibe … the menu was good. I enjoyed my patty melt burger - the plate of fries were perfect (hot and crispy). Got the patti melt and gold star burger. I liked the smash patti option (highly recommend and would get again) and seemed better than the single patti (hubby got) (it was more med rare cooked)

Since the menu is smaller and a new place will share some things we were looking for that might be great adds in the future: Was looking for some starters / appetizers on the menu like: mozzarella sticks, cheese or tater tot fries, potato skins, hushpuppies, or something to snack on pre meal. For drinks I see shakes are coming … was hoping for a choc shake, my next vintage drink I was looking for was draft root beer (or even mug root beer) The burger options were good. We were looking for a bacon / BBQ and something spicy (jalapeño, pepper jack cheese, bbq, etc) or an Avacado try burger… but know that is not vintage - just good burger combos .. maybe a special monthly feature menu with a burger of the month For desserts: root beer floats, chocolate chip cookie, lemon meringue pie, peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream.

I saw them cooking green beans on the grill when we were wrapping up - missed that on the menu.

Like that they offer beer and mixed drinks.

Seating was comfortable. We were surprised it was a smaller place but had a lot of seating even though small narrow restaurant. Service was pretty quick and functional. A very casual spot - would feel comfortable popping in for lunch in casual clothes … it was prob more casual than we expected compared to some of the other cute downtown restaurants but...

Today we went for a quick lunch around 130pm. I have a food allergy to pork and ordered the breakfast sandwich. When the server asked me “what meat I wanted” I said “no meat please, I have an allergy. It’s fine if you put it on the side I can give it to my husband who does not have any allergies.” When the food came out my husbands burger was correct but there was bacon on my sandwich. We flagged down the waiter who was apologetic and said “sorry my manager said we can’t do bacon on the side. We will make you another one without meat”. When he came back they served us toast, eggs with cheese, and bacon all on separate plates. The atmosphere in the restaurant became noticeably uncomfortable and multiple kitchen staff walked by and glared at us from the hallway. At the end of the meal when the bill came they charged us ala cart for all the items on the sandwich (including the bacon I requested specifically not to have) and the bill was substantially higher than the sandwich on the menu I ordered. We were very disappointed that no one informed us of the change in price and/or asked before we were charged. We are also disappointed that they still brought and charged us even for the pork product that I am allergic to and that I refused. The environment of the restaurant was hostile and it felt like they were treating us badly because of my...

Second visit in two days! It’s that good. We are already planning to come back in two days! 1st visit at the counter. I had the mushroom Swiss double smash burger with fries. I came at noon and was immediately served. The burger was absolutely memorable! Tonight’s visit. We arrived at 7:45pm on a Saturday night. No wait on a table. Quiet full diner. The food was perfect. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. I also got a side of green beans. This was a perfect amount of food. Perfect buttery mashed potatoes. Fresh green beans. My husband got the burger with two smashed patties. He got a full plate of fries. The patties that sealed the experience was OMAR our waiter. He captured every detail. He even made sure my plate was sitting exactly placed in front of me. That is service you don’t normally see. He made sure our drinks were always filled. He even made sure my husband had enough ketchup for that big plate of fries. He brought them in little cups. Most places just bring a huge bottle for you to dispense yourself. I like that because my hands don’t always grip as they should. That’s a nice touch. Frankie and Sue give this place 10 stars. Sorry I didn’t take a picture tonight of the food. It was so good we forgot to take one and...

I went to Gold Burger Diner on 11/29/24 and sat at the counter. The server was super friendly, helpful and attentive. It was a BUSY day, but I really enjoyed the experience. I saw how gigantic the burgers were, so opted for a slider, which was delicious and hot, because he served it immediately. The fries are the thin kind and if not used right away, they do get cold, so that I wasn’t too pleased with the fries. I only ate a few of them. I prefer the thicker, crinkle-cut types. I have heard quite a few complaints about the fries lacking taste, and that they were cold. They could really improve on their fries. I’m not sure how they can keep them warmer. After they are fried, they are dumped into an open stainless steel, shallow container, so I could see why they would get cold quickly. However, I do like that they aren’t overly seasoned. But, all of the food I saw going out to other customers looked delicious & were large portions. I’ll definitely be back for the sliders again! They tasted exactly the way I like them! in fact, I liked the first one so much that I ordered a second one I was able to get two sliders for $10 compared to the classic hamburger which costs $12.
