After reading several of the reviews, I hate to pile on, but here goes....... We visited Juliette during the Red Poppy Festival, and the city square was packed with people. We had elbowed our way around the square when we came across this place. Looking in from outside, the place was fairly empty, which should have been our first clue. However, the "curb appeal", and a review of the online menu left us with the impression that it was maybe a little upscale and pricey for the crowd that was at the festival, which was why it was so empty. We soon found out why the minute we walked in...........the hostess was turning people away. Well, to be fair, she was actually telling them that there was a 15 - 20 minute wait for a table, and that they could wait outside. Whaaaaat?! The place was practically empty!!! When I asked what was wrong with all the empty tables, I was told that they had an upstairs area, as well, and that it was crowded, so they couldn't seat people downstairs because it would overwhelm the kitchen. We were hot, tired, and all we wanted to do was sit in the A/C and have a few drinks while we waited on a table. We didn't care if it would have taken us 30 - 45 minutes to get food, we just wanted to relax with a few drinks while we waited. Bottom line is that the creativity of the management at this establishment is non-existent.
Knowing that the festival was going to take place, why didn't they......... Create a special menu for those 3 days that could have been prepped ahead of time so that the kitchen wouldn't be overwhelmed. If the upstairs area is the preferred seating area, why not convert the entire downstairs seating area to bar space (the small bar was full)? People could sit and enjoy some wine or cocktails while waiting on a table. Maybe even have some easy, pre-prepped appetizers that could have been sold (meatballs, mozarella sticks, anti-pasta plate [pre-plated, of course], etc).
We would have been willing to spend $30 - $40, or more, on drinks and apps while waiting on a table. Too bad they lost out on that from us, and the 20 - 30 other people I saw them turn away.
The management here is so uninspiring that I doubt I would...
Read moreJuliet is the kind of dining experience that leaves an indelible mark. While not cheap, the exceptional quality of both the food and service makes every penny worth it. From start to finish, we were treated to a culinary journey that balanced sophistication with comfort. Our server, Italia, was a true gem—professional, friendly, and always attentive without being overbearing.
We kicked things off with an Old Fashioned, and what a start it was. The drink was perfectly balanced, with a harmonious blend of sweetness, bitterness, and a touch of smokiness. The attention to detail was impeccable, with Juliet's signature elegantly stamped on the ice cube, adding an extra layer of charm.
The appetizers set the bar high. The fresh mozzarella was a delight, creamy and luscious, paired with just the right accompaniments to enhance its flavor. The stuffed mushrooms were a masterpiece—earthy, tender, and bursting with savory goodness in every bite. And then there was the calamari: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a perfectly seasoned coating that made it impossible to stop at just one piece.
For the main courses, the Bolognese and the Manicotti stole the show. The Bolognese was rich and hearty, with a sauce so perfectly balanced it felt like a warm embrace. Each bite of the Manicotti was pure indulgence, with its delicate pasta and creamy, flavorful filling complemented by a vibrant tomato sauce. These dishes weren’t just meals—they were experiences.
Finally, dessert was the perfect conclusion. The Tiramisu was a textbook example of how this classic should be done: light, airy layers of mascarpone and coffee-soaked ladyfingers, topped with just the right dusting of cocoa. The Gelato was equally impressive—silky smooth, with bold flavors that left us savoring every spoonful.
The service was nothing short of impeccable, with dishes arriving promptly and plated beautifully, like edible works of art. Every detail, from the presentation to the timing, reflected the team’s dedication to excellence.
Juliet is a place I cannot recommend highly enough. And if you go—and you absolutely should—ask for Italia. She’ll ensure your experience is as unforgettable...
Read moreWill update review upon follow up visit. I will be giving my juliet Italian kitchen review an update once I have had the chance to dine with them again. I look forward to an improved experience as they grow and learn. Georgetown TX is a beautiful town and Juliets Italian Kitchen can be successful if they can refine what they have and build on their austin success.
Current review below-
DO NOT GO... this is not like juliet in south austin, they are passing this place off as an additionallocation, but this is not it. Usually no table clothes indicates a drop in quality, but i never guessed this. They are relatively new, but nothing can make up for the gaping holes in this place.. Consider this like a small confused passion project rather than an actual restaurant.
The location It's amazing, to bad that's where it ends...even the entries are poorly designed.
The atmosphere is okay, seating is to close together so you can smell your neighbors cigar. They also have a fly problem that is a bit disgusting...
The staff has not been trained and stands around ignoring customers. They reach past incorrectly and take forever to respond with what you requested. They fail to bring things you asked. They also are not dressed well and it feels like someone hired their friends to do a job instead of a real wait staff.
The food. Pizza, pesto pasta, and chicken parm were rough... you could do better with a $20 budget and a trip to HEB. The pasta was under cooked, the chicken was dry, and the food was overall just lacked effort... you would get better food at a fast food Italian chain like Fazoli's.
The drinks From the bar, the first drink came with garnishment and lovely presentation. The second drink was undeniablely a different flavor all together. I never got my water and we had to ask three times for straws.
Overall They were not busy, the staff was polite but untrained, and the food was a 3rd graders attempt at a dish... do not go.
The owners need to listen up, because this place is trash, and is ruining the juliet name.
My viewpoint Train the staff, get some uniforms and figure out what is going on in the kitchen because this is a...
