Georgetown Palace Theatre — Attraction in Georgetown

The most magical experience ever! The host and hostesses cater to you as soon as you walk in the door....the cast could have been right off Broadway...singing, dancing, the use of props, their acting genius and the set coordination and design are unmatched! The whole experience was captivating leaving you breathless to want more. I was moved and inspired by the brilliance of the performance. Mary Poppins flying through the air, the chimney sweep walking on the ceiling from a cast of at least 30 dressed for the times in colorful fashion one musical number after the next, with amazing singing ability! The mean nanny scaring the audience, to the statues coming to life...mouths were hanging at the chimney sweep musical number! Well thought out, stupendous all around! Bravo! I have enjoyed coming to see shows here. Recently, I saw Beautiful, the musical about Carol King and I was beyond pleased. I appreciated the way they cast the show. The actors were not what I could consider a conventional approach for some of the roles and test they told the story so beautifully (no pun intended). It brought to light that theatre is meant to tell a story and gives us a glimpse into the past. It’s to educate us through song and dialogue combined with the skill of an actor. This cast was so spot on and I enjoyed every minute. As an actor who has worked with this company in the past, I appreciate the thoughtful way they stage...

A TOTAL "LET DOWN!" DROVE TO GEORGETOWN, PARKED,& WALKED TO THE PALACE........ THERE MY DAUGHTERS & I SAW A POSTER IN THE WINDOW, THAT CLEARLY ADVERTISED THE PLAY, WE HAD EAGERLY, WAITED TO SEE.... IN THE ""PALACE!""A TO OUR DISMAY, WE LEARNED, ALONG WITH OTHERS, ..... THE PLAY WAS TO TAKE PLACE, ACROSS THE STREET, IN A "CRACKERBOX!" TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF THE TICKET!
