Let me preface this by saying that I love what Slackers offers. They have a huge selection of video games and as a gamer, I love that. They also have a wide variety of stuff between movies, cds, anime, posters, figures, and whatever else you could be looking for.

Now the negative aspect. What I do not like are their prices. I am thrifty, so when I am shopping used video game stores, one tends to get a general idea/feel for what things should be priced at. Slackers tends to price everything above Market Value. Whether they do it because it is a college town or because it is a bit of a nicer area… it seems to be working for them. I love swinging by when I visit my friends in the area, but I hardly ever purchase anything since I can find it for a lot cheaper where I live.

Any who, they really do offer a large selection of everything. I love the fact that most of their SNES-era games have boxes on the shelves. Nostalgia kicks in looking at some old gaming boxes. The games don’t come with the boxes, as they are store displays. But still cool to see! I will try and snap a few photos the next time I go and update this post with them.

It’s a great place to scratch almost any nerdy itch you have, but it does come with a premium price. I have been a regular for over a decade and NEVER have got treated so badly first of all they can't get release dates right one of my games witch comes out on the 9th they said comes put on the 30th so that's fishy and so I wanted to cancel my preorders ao.i could get something else with my trade or IF the games came in I'd still buy them then the chick and the guy that was there October 2nd about 4 pm this happend they gave me a attitude and was like we will cancel just this one time but after this we won't allow anymore cancels a and their reason was and I quote "It's too much work" Your getting paid to do this that's why it's called a JOB IT'S WORK dont like it work else where and finally the cherry on top a ps4 pre owned controller I bought THEY SAID and I quote "we tested multiple times" bull I tested and had someone else tested on a MACHINE the left joy stick I BROKEN so they lied straight to my face I'M NOT HAPPY AND FOR ME THAT'S 45 BUCKS DOWN THE DRAIN I WON'T EVER GET BACK THAT'S THE PRICE OF A NEW GAME it's no wonder slackers is doing so bad I'm surprised they're not out of...

Slackers saw the turmoil facing Gamestop today years ago and took steps to correct course. In this store that shows. I always wanted to work here and still really enjoy the atmosphere. Slackers is more than just a used game and nerd merch store. THIS slackers is much much more. This Slackers is the best music store in town, they participate in free comic book day, have had local authors and artists on staff and they actively participate and help fund community events.

If you want to know more about MTG, local music, comic story arcs, the latest in AAA gaming or a very specific new artist, this is the place to go. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the space is well housekept.

In addition Slackers buys older games, movies, comics, figurines and tv shows and pays out at prices fairer than most pawn shops.
