i have been attending this gym for a year & would like to firstly give a honorable mention to the staff at the main entrance that always makes me feel so welcomed when arriving to the gym especially James, his energy is a 10 & the general manger JD has always been so helpful & kind since the start, always making sure i am doing well, letting me know if i have any questions he is there to assist, even the guests at this gym has always been so supportive & taught me a lot, really nice people here :) as for my training experience ..very different, to clarify my poor experience with this trainer began some time last year & apart of earlier this year & i am no longer in training, the reason for not speaking on this matter was because i was fully aware that the manager of trainers ( Mark ) has “close friends” & “special relationships” inside & outside of work with the trainers meaning my complaint would possibly not be fully taken cared of, respected or pointed out to HR, the trainer i was assigned to was ( Shannon ), she used to be friendly at start then throughout my training sessions began to change her attitude towards me & talk on strange topics, she began to make dirty looks at me & my body while training me, when opening up to her she would say “ew” & always seemed disgusted by me like she didn’t want to train me anymore, one time she made a rude comment while doing my inbody scan as i asked her questions about my progress & asked if i was “fat” as she knew i suffer with body dysmorphia & she responded “pretty much, you come to the gym & do nothing” & proceeded to say she doesn’t know what the numbers mean on the inbody scan while laughing ( my aunt was there to witness it ) during sessions she asked me inappropriate questions about my sx life & preferences, she made rude comments about guests & employees there, she mentioned a guest as a “pick me girl” for what she was wearing, she asked if i would sleep with certain guests there based on their looks & even tried to set me up with guests & employees there & spoke on much worse topics i cannot disclose on here, never did warms ups or stretched before any of my sessions & made me push weight way beyond what i can handle causing my scoliosis to worsen, i felt my money went to waste, I AM aware that i myself should’ve switched from the start but it’s hard for me to speak up & i felt weirded out that she was very known here & kind to others except myself ( selectively nice ) & didn’t want to ruin anyone’s reputation even though i was being treated poorly out of nowhere plus at the time she was the only female trainer & i didn’t feel comfortable working with a male & had no other choice, when my second package of training began ( as i paid over $900 ) i had told her i can no longer tolerate her talking & wasting my sessions & would much rather have her keep it professional by not asking me personal questions about my sx life & stirring me in unnecessary drama with people from the gym & her first act was to ghost me mid sessions, she unprofessionally stopped reaching out for session days for TWO whole weeks after that discussion, she pretended not to see me at the gym as i was physically there those weeks while she was training other clients, i did not mention this to the manger of trainers ( Mark ) but i knew he was fully aware she stopped reaching out & he did absolutely nothing & did not supervise her behavior as he again has his “close friends” & “special relationships” with the trainers, basically dismissing her behavior & unprofessionalism for abandoning my sessions after my huge investment over $900, so i felt more comfortable speaking with ( JD ) the general manager who was extremely helpful & kind enough to help me switch trainers, he did not fail me & assigned me with a very supportive trainer, love this gym but they NEED to be more aware & mindful to the energy that some of their staff members are giving off to the guests & clients here. ( James & JD deserve the five stars ) also to mention the glute factory room is my favorite part of this gym...
Read moreIf you have any ounce of self-respect you will avoid this place at all costs. If I was given the choice to pay them an extra penny or gain 50 pounds, I would choose there latter -- here is my experience: I have been a member of this pathetic establishment since last April. A bald, tall worker had "helped" me sign up. The place was already open when I went in to get my membership and my dad, mom, and sister were already members. So this worker sat me down and began to blatantly lie to me about the gym's amenities. He literally told me they have a pool and sauna that I won't have access to unless I pay for a premium membership. Note that the gym wasn't in construction anymore, he was just lying to me about imaginary amenities. Maybe he was intoxicated and was hallucinating when telling me these complete lies. This probably affected his ability to determine that I was a woman and women DON'T have a sauna in their locker room. However, I highly doubt that he didn't notice this since he patronized and belittled me throughout the entire process. Of course he did not tell me of the hidden fees and was deceiving, but that happens to all their members so I don't feel too special because of that. After facing the first sexist worker, I came to the gym a day later and was greeted by my next opponent: the personal trainer. I did not ask for this and literally just wanted to work out, BY MYSELF. He kept pushing me to walk through the gym with him, even though I said I'm not interested probably five times. I had to tell him I'm having stomach cramps and have to go home so he would leave me alone. He literally made me leave the gym for the day because of how pushy and uncomfortable he made me. I don't remember the name of this moron but if you see a worker with hair that looks like horse p* then that's the one. The gym itself has been overcrowded and disgusting. There's always smelly guys yelling around the gym and making everyone uncomfortable. There's always that one guy destroying the punching bag and yelling at it like it just called his mom fat. My friends and I always avoid passing by these sociopaths because they might start punching us at this point. The workers there are too busy flexing their greasy slickbacks around the gym and acting like their dad is Joe Gold himself. A year and a month later, I decide I've had enough of this sad excuse for a gym and go to cancel. The manager tells me I needed to give a 30 day notice to cancel and it says so in the contract so I would be billed for June, even though I won't be using the facility. I let that slide. Then she has the audacity to tell me that I have to pay for July too, since I was one day late on cancellation. So I have to pay $60 for two months that I will not be using the gym. She acted like she had no control over the billing and there was a gun to her head telling her to take the money out of my bank account. She did not even try to be helpful. She just stood there waiting for me to leave and threatened me with debt collectors that will ruin my credit if I don't pay. I would give that $60 dollars wrapped in a ribbon and patted her on the head if she tried to help me before shutting me down. However, she didn't. Here are the steps that will be taken because of their blatant disregard to a member that has paid them for their "services" for over a year. My family and relatives will be cancelling their memberships, costing them an indefinite minimum of $1,500 annually. My boyfriend and his five friends will be cancelling theirs because they like LA Fitness much more anyway, that's an indefinite minimum of $2,400 annually. My twelve friends will be cancelling their memberships as well, totaling to an indefinite minimum of $3,600 annually. Each time they cancel their membership I'll make sure to tell them to put their reason as this review. Furthermore, I'm sure this review will assist others in being swayed in the right direction which is anywhere but this s* hole. I hope the price of (minimum) $7,500 was worth the salvation. All this for...
Read moreThis is the worst gym I've ever experienced, and I've had quite a few different gym memberships in different cities over the last few years. The facility itself is clean and new, but my problem is with the employees and sales tactics.
I came in yesterday around 4:30 PM to get a 7 day pass, since I'm trying out a few different gyms in the area to work out close to my office. When I came in, I was asked to sign in and provide information on a tablet, and after that a "sales consultant would come activate my 7 day pass". Translation, get ready for the sales pitch. I had a feeling that was coming and know that it's part of the routine, but this was the most uncomfortable and pushy experience I've ever had.
The sales person first sits me down at his desk to start asking me questions like what am I looking in a gym, what exercises do I like, when was the last time I worked out, what gym was I at before, why did I leave, what did I like about it, and the list went on and on. After the 10 minute question session, he said I then had to take a tour of the facility. At this point I asked him if this was really necessary, and he said yes, because it's procedure.
I sat through this tour for the next 15 minutes, where he pointed out what a stairmaster is, and what leg machines are and what bathrooms are. Completely unnecessary, but I was friendly and went along with it. When we finished the tour, I once again had to go back to his desk. I had even mentioned I was on a time crunch, and he said this wouldn't be long.
Then he pulls out a book and flips through every page, telling me what Gold's Gym mission is, where all there locations are, and a ton of other unnecessary pieces of information. Then he gets to a page on the "Four Pillars of Fitness" and asks me what my diet is like. I have seen nutritionists before and know what I'm doing, but he proceeds to tell me I'm being unhealthy and should be eating more often and incorporating x y and z into my diet. No offense, but you really shouldn't be advising people to eat certain ways when you don't know anything about their bodies or health background.
He finally gets to a page on the pricing and asks which plan I'd be interested in, and I told him the basic would be enough but I am not here to purchase anything, and I haven't even had a chance to try out the gym. It's already 5 o clock at this point and I've been there for 30 minutes. He then asks me what he can do to make me purchase today. I once again repeated that I didn't want to buy anything today, and I just wanted to test out the gym and weigh my options on my own. Then he asks me to wait because he needs to talk to his manager. I should have just ran away at this point.
After going into his manager's office for 5 minutes, he comes back out with the manager and the manager proceeds with the same pitch. At this point, I was really frustrated and said "I understand you're just doing your job but I've already said I don't want to purchase today. I have to leave at 5:30 and I haven't even had a chance to try out the gym." The manager condescendingly said "You're not interested in these incentives you can ONLY get today?" to which I said "No, I have no problem with your pricing, and If I'm interested, I will purchase the basic plan as is. I JUST want to try this gym out." I really couldn't believe I had been sitting there for 45 minutes after I had already said I didn't have time for this today - I felt like a hostage! He grudgingly handed me a 7 day pass and rudely said "Fine, but just know that if you decide to buy you won't get to negotiate."
I worked out for 15 minutes and then left because I had to go home. I spent a few years in sales, and you people need to learn how to READ YOUR AUDIENCE. If I'm telling you I just want to work out and don't want to make a decision today and I have other commitments to go home to, you need to listen. Respect your customers. You're losing prospects, I guarantee it. I will not be proceeding with the remainder of my 7 day trial and definitely won't be purchasing...
