My friends and I went here for Dinner yesterday, February 6th 2025. We were very excited for the steamed crab legs and carving station. So on that and let me go ahead and set the record straight, the food was absolutely fabulous. There was a very nice assortment of dishes ranging from Meat, Fish, Fruit & Vegetables and Sushi. The décor was very lovely as was our server, Enoch. The seating was comfortable and the design to navigate through the buffet was very simply. The price was a little high for two adults and one senior citizen at over $120, but because they served crab legs, on a weekday I might add, that was, I guess, par for the course.
Now for the one thing negatively took over everything else. I understand that people come to buffets in large groups whether it's mixed with adults or families and children. There was a group of about 11 people with 4 children that were on the opposite side of the restaurant. These kids were completely out of control. The two little girls I observed as I walked up to the buffet were quite literally laying down flat side by side on the carpet. They would occasionally roll around and scream and holler while the servers casually walked on by and ignored them. I am not trying to sound overly bitter as I was obviously a child myself at one point but it has gotten to a point where so many parents treat buffets of any quality/type or any location as their own personal playground for their undisciplined children. I understand that it is not the staff's responsibility to babysit these children. That is the responsibility of the ignorant, lazy, entitled parents.
The one thing that these children did that has completely scarred me and possibly has deterred me from ever returning to this buffet was this: when I went up to the chocolate fountain these two girls that were with that group got ahead of me grabbed strawberries off of the buffet line with their bare fingers, they started plucking off the little green leaves on the tops of the strawberries and throwing them back into the tray with all the rest, and then they proceeded to dip their fingers and the strawberries into the chocolate fountain. They continued to do this action with other dessert goods such as marshmallows, cookies and ice cream. Again, I get it, youthful high spirits. This sort of tacky behavior I would expect at a Golden Corral, Sizzler or a (now defunct) HomeTown Buffet. But the fact that the staff continued to walk around and not pay attention to this and I had to go out of my way to get my server to speak to the manager to reprimand these children is out of line. The people behind the service line we're watching these kids do this activity and continued to smile and laugh and not stop them. It was clearly a sign that stated that " adult supervision was required " for the chocolate fountain. It wasn't just the chocolate fountain that this situation had occurred these kids were grabbing and touching a good amount of everything else on the service line. My server Enoch told the manager and he told the kids to stop, but they kept doing it anyway.
In conclusion, expect solid food quality and service but if you see large groups of families, take heed. As I stated before, most value buffet establishments typically have behavior like this but when you're at a place that's in beautiful downtown Glendale with a sterling reputation of service and quality and considering the reasonably high price tag that this buffet is priced at per person, I would have expected better handling of rowdy children and rectifying the food for other guests as it was technically contaminated. This was my first and probably last time visiting Vegas...
Read moreCame for the weekend/holiday dinner buffet. I started with the crab legs which were not the best quality, but were at least nice and hot. They weren't quite as meaty as I expected, but since it was a buffet, I was able to grab enough legs to get a satisfying amount of meat. It did take a heaping plateful to get there but I got there.
Next I went for the sushi. The sashimi was okay but the rolls were not great. They seemed to rely too heavy on sauces and toppings rather than the fish and other things in the roll itself. Some people really like this "California style" sushi though, so if that's your thing, you're in luck.
The meat course was really good. The prime rib was satisfying, and the duck was incredible! I was surprised and really happy to see that there was duck available and it did not disappoint. It came with some really tasty plum sauce that just made the duck the highlight of the evening. I had a nice duck leg and some other duck meat. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any kind of sauce or jelly for the lamb. The gentleman at the carving station suggested that I use the beef gravy that was there for the prime rib. Without any kind of sauce or topping for the lamb, it was really dry and not very good. I can't say enough about the duck. It was so good!
I guess because they had so many other dishes available, they didn't really have a wide selection of Asian dishes available. I had the broccoli beef which I mean to be fair, very few places make a broccoli beef with the best cuts of beef, but the beef in the broccoli beef was tough and chewy. The broccoli was pretty good and the black bean sauce was fair. I really like the gyoza potstickers, and the dim sum dumplings were okay. Because they were in a lot of choices for the Asian food section, I ended up grabbing another piece of duck 😅
I didn't try these, but they did have a nice grill section where you can get grilled beef and fish along with noodles and other things. They also had a full salad bar including a raw oyster bar that I didn't discover until I was ready for dessert.
Dessert options were typical buffet fare. Nothing particularly outstanding but not bad either. I enjoyed some ice cream, a small slice of cheesecake and something that kind of resembled tiramisu.
Service was outstanding which was a surprise considering how busy they were when I first arrived. My glass was never empty, the staff constantly came by to refill my water and my soft drink. They also came by frequently to take away any plates that needed to be taken away. Food trays were almost always full, and when they were low, they were quickly replaced with a new heaping pile of fresh food.
A note to the management, it's a shame you charge a 20% gratuity up front, because I most likely would have given a larger gratuity. Having had this great experience with your staff. Staff. Unfortunately I did not have cash with me so this was not an option. If of course your servers are happier with a 20% up front, then by all means continue this process. I just hope the servers are getting the full gratuity and that you're not holding any of it back.
The dinner weekend / holiday service comes out to just under $50 a head which is a little pricey, but given the variety of meats and other dishes offered, this was acceptable for a special occasion or holiday dinner. It's not something I would do frequently for this price, but I did enjoy...
Read moreMaybe it's because I haven't been to a buffet in awhile but I actually thought this buffet was pretty good. A lot of people must feel the same way because the estimated wait time was 90 minutes when I went at 7pm on a Saturday. The actual wait time was around 60 minutes. Luckily, there are shops nearby where you can kill time. It didn't even feel like 60 minutes after doing some shopping.
This buffet offers a wide variety of food with predominantly Asian-inspired choices. There is a sushi bar with a selection of rolls (California, dragon, shrimp tempura, etc.), sashimi (tuna and salmon), roe (red, orange, black), and of uni and salmon roe (must ask and limited to 2 pieces each). They also offer raw oysters (didn't try, didn't feel like gambling my stomach's well-being), standard salad bar, crab legs, soups (pass on the clam chowder, was very mediocre and bland), carving station (some chicken and beef, wasn't interested), Asian entrees (beef and broccoli, string beans, orange chicken, etc.), teppanyaki grill, and a dessert bar (wasn't all that inspiring but they have a chocolate fountain). My favorite items were the abalone soup and the rose bread (I love fluffy bread). All of the items I tried were solid and the sashimi I ate, while not amazing, did not set off any food poisoning alarms. None of the food did. All of the hot food tasted fresh and, maybe it was due to the 60 minute wait, mostly tasty.
Overall, the place was clean and plates weren't as dirty as other Yelpers have mentioned. Maybe I went on an especially good day.
Service is similar to other Asian establishments. If you can flag someone down, they will help you.
You can park at Glendale Galleria's huge parking structure and walk...
