This is a review of Player 1 VR World in the Hollywood Boilevard location.
I have done virtual reality at least 5 times. When it works, it's mind blowing. When it doesn't work, it's terrible. This one does not work. My comments refer to the virtual reality escape room. We did Space Station Tiberia.
The problems are with the equipment, NOT the employees. The employees couldn't have been nicer. But no employee can compensate for faulty equipment.
The player images are not calibrated correctly. The player you see at12:00 in front of you is actually at 3:00 to the right of you.
This results in people bumping constantly into each other. It's a SAFETY ISSUE which must be fixed!!!
The 2nd issue was with the reliability of the working hand unit. When working properly, you can use them to pick up objects to complete your task.
Unfortunately, my hand unit stopped working 20 minutes into the game. So it was impossible for me to complete the game tasks.
After 20 minutes we took off our masks and left the room. What a waste.
We asked for a refund, but were told they were not authorized to do that. I certainly hope the owner responds to me and the...
Read moreI had an incredible experience! This place is seriously cool, offering a perfect blend of fun and excitement. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The VR games featured amazing graphics that truly transported us to other worlds. The level of professionalism in both the setup and execution of the experiences was impressive. I went with a group of friends, and we had an absolute blast together. It’s definitely a great spot for hanging out and creating memorable moments with your buddies. What surprised me was how versatile the venue is - it would make for an awesome date night too! The variety of games and experiences means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for adventure or just want to share some laughs. Overall, a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and...
Read moreCame here on a whim on a Tuesday night and played the aquatic escape room. It was very fun and immersive. Graphics were great. We ended up buying the membership and will come back to try the other games! The shooter games seemed to be the most popular.
Edit: I am VERY prone to motion sickness/vision-relates headaches so I recommend taking breaks (removing the VR set) if you are doing a longer game. I didn’t want to stop escaping the room so left it on (took it off once for about 5 min which helped a lot) but ended up with a tension headache and motion sickness that lasted for 1.5 days. I still plan on going back but might bring gaming glasses since there is a bit of room in the headset and will definitely take more breaks. Just a FYI for those prone to...
