Elegant boutique hotel in LA Glendale area about 15 minutes from Downtown and 30 minutes from LAX.
Booking: We booked this hotel through Hotwire and were a little uneasy about the hotel we got. Fortunately this hotel exceeded all of our expectations.
Parking: Located a block away in the city garage, our cost was $5 per night, and we could charge it to the room. There is also short-term paid parking in front of the hotel building.
Checking In: Finding the hotel was easy; it is not a big building, so you must pay attention to where the entrance is located. After finding our reservation, the check-in process took less than 5 minutes. The front desk staff received us with a big smile, and we were helped promptly while explaining the amenities.
Shared spaces: Well decorated with several pieces of art throughout. Although the areas are small, there is plenty of room to move around.
The Rooms: This was the biggest surprise. The rooms (2 rooms reserved) weren't just clean; they were spotless! There wasn't a spec of dust from floor to ceiling, including the bathroom and shower. There was a snack basket with a fine selection and a fridge with cold soft drinks for purchase. Here, the small details win! The folded toilet paper, the number of towels, the shower cap and shoe shine, coffee, water, and more.
Overall our experience was terrific, and we will definitely book this hotel again. And thank you to the staff at the front desk and everyone working behind the scenes for the wonderful job...
Read moreGreat location, This hotel is like booking a boutique hotel in New York – but no immediate parking.
Historically centralized in an incredible location in Glendale, Ca. ( above the space where JAX jazz bar was located). This building is historical and doesn’t have elevators. I will be back. Not friendly to folks who cannot manage 35 stairs.
I am visiting Los Angeles from the Coachella Valley for a 3:45pm Friday appointment at Kaiser Sunset Los Angele Medical Center. I decided to spend the night verses driving home. I booked directly with the Hotel Brandwood. This hotel is like booking a boutique hotel in New York. The rooms are modest in size and parking (offered – is two blocks way). Worth every dime! No immediate parking is why you get a good deal and can walk around Glendale without worry to some of the best restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley!
Tips: If you are driving, parking temporarily in front of hotel (public paid parking diagonal) for 30 minutes. Take your luggage inside an up the stairs. Check-in, and get instructions for overnight parking two blocks away. Then park your vehicle two blocks away. A safe distance and publicly area to walk back to the hotel.
Regarding the check in/registration: the most concise and detailed, with photographs of the parking garage entrance, that I have ever received in many years as a meeting planner. A+.
It has the smell of some of those older, historical NY hotels. But it’s clean, organized and...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Plaza in Glendale, and it was an experience I’m eager to repeat. From the moment I stepped in, the hotel exuded a warm and welcoming charm that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. The aesthetic appeal of the hotel was undeniable; it was super cute, and the attention to detail in the decor made for a memorable ambiance.
Cleanliness is next to godliness, and the Grand Plaza took this adage to heart. The rooms were immaculate, providing a fresh and serene environment to relax in after a day exploring Glendale. The coziness of the rooms complemented the overall vibe of the hotel, making it a cozy retreat from the bustling city life.
The hotel doesn’t feature an elevator, which means guests will have to take the stairs. While this could be a setback for some, I found that the stairways added to the quaint charm of the building, giving it a more intimate and boutique feel. It’s a small detail that some may need to plan for, but it certainly doesn’t detract from the hotel’s many positives.
The crowning jewel of the Grand Plaza, however, has to be the customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests’ experiences shone through, making it clear that they are passionate about...
