Sugar Beet Factory — Attraction in Glendale

Vaguely remember visiting a sugar factory in Phoenix over 50 years ago when I was 5. Saw this pop up on Google and went to investigate. Could be the same place, how many Sugar beet processors could there have been back then? Saw the plaques but did not see anything that was obviously a public museum. Believe that part may have been abandoned. Which is a shame. A key component of soda-pop is sugar and Phoenix gets hot in the summer, so this is a monument of making the Valley of the Sun habitable. Saw that some individuals are upset that this building is on the registry and also calling for it to be torn down. Arizona has been notorious for failing to preserve historic buildings. They got it right with this one. I hope it stays standing as is for future generations...

This building is abandoned and is registered as a Historical Landmark. What? Our tax dollars are funding this abandoned building. Tax payers money hard at work right here. This building is an eyesore and the city really needs to develop something at this site or remodel...
