Edit: I went to this bike park again after they re-did it. They added a skinnier more progressive skinny, shaped some of the jump, and they fixed the entry onto the wall ride, as well as added a couple rollers for speed and flow on the jump lines. They also fixed the roll in to make it a little steeper. The bike park does feel better, but not by much. The bike park is still windy most days which can make some of the jumps difficult. I don't know if they read this and fixed it because most of the things I said they changed. So yes, the bikepark is better, and you will have fun. It is the only bike park in the Valley with wooden features. They did the best they could with what they had when they fixed it, and that was nice too see. That means they kept and repositioned some of the lips for the jumps. So all in all, I am glad to see that they took the time to tweak the park. The wall ride is my personal favorite part of the park, mainly because we have nothing like that in the Valley. But would I reccomend you visit this park? If you are in downtown Grand Junction and have some hours to kill in the afternoon, yeah you should go visit, the small features will be fun for them. Like I said in the other review, it's good for a family because everyone could have fun. But, if you are a little more progressive rider I would reccomend going to the other bike parks. The lips, although not perfect, are better maintained at other bike parks, they have more interesting line choices aswell. The other bike parks in the grand valley have more flow, which is something Dos Rios is lacking.(The rollers did help though.) Fruita bike park or the Lunch Loop bike park you will probably have more fun at. But if you have time to kill, or just wanna ride this park for the sake of saying you did it, then do it!
Previous: Your time would be better spent at another bikepark. From the road or pictures this bike park looks pretty epic, but upon closer examination, its just not. This park WAS NOT built by the company that maintains and built the other local bikeparks. This park feels like somebody didn't know what they were doing, or they have never built jumps or anything close. Besides this, much of the park just feels unfinished. The wall ride does not feel polished, instead of a smooth transition, there's almost like a dirt curb that can make you slide if not done correctly. Also, it looks like they we going to try and build jumps into the wall ride which would be cool, but its not compacted or anything. I don't know if they have plans of finishing this because its been like this for week. The main jumps are alright, you can roll away from most of them, its the landings that are the issues. Some are either to steep, or too flat. Many of the jumps are bigger for the amount of speed the track gives you. This results in you having to pedal a lot leaving no energy to jump, which ends in a case. Also the roll in is terrible. Its half the the size of the lunchloop bike, its barely enough to roll. So you have to pedal in at full speed just to clear a jump. Its a horrible roll in. They do have some basic mountain bike features like some small skinnys which can be fun, but it would also be fun if they had at least ONE intermediate feature. But for a family, the bike park can be enjoyed by all of them. But the park still feels unfinished. All in all this bikepark is a disappointment. Its sad to see city funding go towards something so terrible. If you want to ride here go either early or late as it is unusually hot, don't expect any benches or places to sit either, or just go to another bikepark. I would recommend either the Fruita or Lunchloop bikepark, this is a waste...
Read moreI think this is one of those instances where community matters in a review. While you will find adults at the bike park, you'll also feel safe bringing your kiddos here and my family and I have never seen or run into bikers that were wreckles or unaware of younger riders. It's refreshing! Thank you everyone for being so chill! The bike park is great and has several fun and accessible features. It feels well maintained. I love the "fishy park" (as my kids call...
Read moreThis is a very nice park. They have a bike park with jumps and ramps and different types of obstacles. There's a large playground shaped like a fish which is pretty cool. There are some covered picnic benches to provide shade. Although often the bathrooms are locked. There's ample...
