Jakes Burgers and Beer — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

Two years ago I had only good things to say about this place. It's so bad now I had to post this poor review. The last several times we've been in probably the last 8 months, it's been terrible. We never see a manager anymore which is one of the things we liked so much is that a manager came by to visit our table just to say hi. The service is slow and they wait staff is completely oblivious to the needs of their customers. Today for example was a Sunday afternoon so very slow. I should have known better than to order breakfast but did anyway. My biscuits were so hard I couldn't eat them. No big deal. I was going to just order something else. But the server said she would go to the back and see if they had any better ones. So the server went to the kitchen and had the cook nuke some more. When she brought them back, to the touch then seemed softer, but instead only made them so tough I hardly even able to cut into them. She never came back to see if they were acceptable. So I instead ate gravy and sausage. No manager ever came back to apologize or check on us and the food was not comped. This is how you lose good customers.

First time visit, now I know why. Stopped here after an event at the Epic. It's took the hostess several minutes to figure out the seating, not to many people inside!! Anyway, took waitress just as long to come and take drink order. Finally came back with drinks and took food order. Food made it out after 20 minutes or so. I was not very impressed by presentation or the looks of it. Good thing I'm not a food blogger. Back to the food... Son ordered cheese quisadillas with a side of fruit cup, waste of 7.49 for that plate. I make better looking quisadillas, a tortilla folded in half with cheese. Pretty bland, the fruit cup was a total joke...from store bought package. My wife ordered the Jake and I got the Works. Buns were bigger than meat patties which were dry n tasteless. The order of tots were over fried. My daughter ordered the corn dog which was very thick for her to eat. Another waste of 7.49, price of the kid's meal. We were almost done when waitress finally came to check on us. Got a refill, then waited on her to bring check. That took another 15 minutes or more. Overall, time, money spent and service is what's critical for good review and return visits. Especially after your first. Base on this visit, it's my only and last visit. Waste of my time and money, going to any fast food joint would've been better.

The food is good and I normally don’t have an issue but today service was terrible. I ordered pick up. I came a few minutes after my time to ensure my food was Rey. I get there and a nice lady asked if i needed help. I told her I had a pick up order so she directed me where to go. I had been there 10 minutes waiting on my food which no one checked on me to see if I was being helped or asked if I needed help. Mind you I appear to be the only person waiting on a to-go order. I could see a to-go order on the counter in the kitchen not being touched. I finally told a lady at the bar area I was waiting on my order. She said we put them there when it’s ready. She went to the same order I saw sitting on the counter for 10 minutes and finally 2 minutes later came back to me asking me my name. I told her and not to my surprise it was my order which I knew. I told her that order was ready for 10 minutes since I arrived. She was like oh well I apologize. Seriously! I called back and asked for a manager. Kristy came to the line. I explained what happened not seeking anything but just for knowledge to ensure workers address customers that are waiting. She sounded unconcerned.
