Update: After my initial review, Joe Palermo reached out to me with an attempt to make things right. We were not disappointed! We revisited today and we had a fantastic time. The service was so much better. We got everything we ordered and had so much fun with all the games. Thank you Joe for reaching out, because we would not have went back and we are glad we did!
We went here last night for the first time for my daughter's 29th birthday. We had a party of 9. We sat upstairs on the patio. My daughter arrived at 5:40 And we all arrived shortly after. First, my daughter requested that the area we were seated at be cleaned 4 times. She ended up cleaning up our area. I went downstairs to order food for my husband and and I. First asked for fried pickles. I was told they were out. Went back upstairs to decide what I was gonna eat. Went back downstairs ask for wings and I was told they were out. So I asked for ribs I was told they were out. Finally decided on the kids chicken strip plate. My son tried to order mac and cheese for my grand baby and they were out. On a Sunday evening, knowing they're gonna be so busy as they were, I don't understand how a place like that runs out of food. We finally all got our food and as we're sitting there eating the server comes and tells us the upstairs is closed. And we're gonna have to leave and go downstairs. My daughter requested to speak to the manager who never came up to speak with us. So we decided just to stay right where we were, finish our food, sing Happy birthday to my daughter and have birthday cake. When I ordered my food I paid at the register where I ordered. My husband had opened a tab at the bar for adult beverages and when I go to settle the tab at the bar, the bartender proceeds to tell me that I owe for the food. I told her repeatedly that I paid when I ordered the food. I showed her my receipts and showed her my text where I had paid from my bank. She responds with, let me call my manager. I wait 20 minutes for the manager to come look at the computer and tell me that I'm good and that he had no tab for me. My daughter started trying to tell him that she requested someone clean the table 4 times and no one ever did. I told him this was my first and a horrible experience here. He was dismissive and could have cared less. Had this been a good experience, this may have been a go to for my bunch, but after this experience, I highly doubt we will ever return. It's a real shame because it could be a really...
Read moreCustomer service was trash. I started a tab for our food prior to eating and going to the water show. I knew we would come back or between chicken and pickle / Vadoras. We had lots of children and wagons with chairs so we went back to the vehicles where I placed my purse.went I went back to the bar to close out everything the young lady Megan apologized and said she could no longer find the tab everything had erased. Which was no prob as I could verbalized to her what dishes we selected. Over her shoulder was some loud mouth informing me that I still owed 9.00 that wasn’t on a tab . Again it’s 9.00 so ok no prob. I explained to the young lady I needed to go back to grab my purse again then the manager face flushed / agitated which had not been his normal behavior with prior experiences abruptly stated whatever I took care of it. Again completely puzzled and now very frustrated because I’m humiliated and his observations of the encounter with his bartender in addition to his disposition seem to be ok for him.
While I’m waiting on another end of the bar to use Apple Pay the previous young lady appears to be cleaning up but throwing water and glasses in the area close in proximity to me that could of been taken care of I’m certain when I left especially after the manager finally sent her on about her business as she continued speaking ( loudly and aggressively) . Yes the place was loud, other indicators such as non verbal cues (I.e body language, pointing her finger, neck rolling ) warranted negative behaviors. I turned to the manger and stated if this is the way you allowed your employees to handle situations I will never step foot back in here. He appears to be out of sorts from our initial interaction. After a much heated loud debate. The robo cop comes up to me and grabs my arms as the young lady is walking towards me, I warned her don’t come in my personal space I’m feeling a bit threatened. I’m highly disappointed in our experience there. We had friends there , family there.
Multiple employees / families came outside to check on us after observation of the incident and apologized as no one should be treated that way. It was embarrassing my flight or fight instantly kicked in and I should have to feel as if I need to protect my self and it child at a place that’s family friendly. As I attempted explaining it’s the way things are postured. I as well deal with clients and customers. As a leader that would be...
Read moreMet some old friends here and really enjoyed myself - later I brought some family members here and did it again and again. The Chicken N Pickle is a restaurant/bar event center type facility, catering around Pickleball a sport that's been around since the 1960's but making plenty of 21st Century hoopla. Combat injuries prohibit me from participating so I sample the bar menu and cheer everyone else on - yep I'm that guy.
Chicken N Pickle has a "stand in line" ordering system then you wait at your table for either the meal to be brought to you, or you pick it up near the kitchen area. It's not real clear if they have waiters or for that matter servers. One of my party decided to eat outside and we really did wait for our food a good while. When the food runner set our order down, one of the ladies in my party asked for something additional - the runner replied..."I dont know about that I'm not your waiter", which I suppose was a fair answer but his statement lent the question - "Well who is? Who is serving us at this place?" That was our experience out doors, so afterwards I decided to try to just eat inside and get up from the table and help myself if I want something. You may experience something different here, I hope so.
I prefer the Burnt End Sandwich and a pretty well seasoned corn on the cob. The pulled pork is very tasty and so is the Country Fried Chicken Sandwich. They had a desert item on the menu that wasn't available the last two times we went I think it was a cookie and ice cream combo. I thought the prices were a little unjustified but I'm not the one paying the light bill there.
I snuck to the bar a few times and more than once I was surprised to find it un-manned. I wondered almost out loud if the employees are not assigned specific duties but rather maybe they all had shared duties - ya know like maybe the bartender got called away to work the food line or something. Anyway, I flagged down the bartender, gave my order and explained that I was suppose to be in the restroom but I use the "potty break" excuse as a pretext to down a couple of shots...and here's my money can you hurry? It seems like no one in the service industry gets in a hurry now a days. I miss the 70's.
Now this restaurant really seems more like a facility or an event center, than a place to grub. I'm not sure I can list everything for you but there is plenty of outside fun to be had. I...
