Herkner's is a wonderful and friendly establishment, with a great staff who make each visit just perfect and personalized!

My mom and I have been coming to Herkner's for quite a few years now for any of our jewelry repairs. The staff has always been friendly and helpful in determining our jewelry repair options, all of our repairs are taken care of in a timely manner, and our jewelry looks like new when we get it back!

Knowing there would be an engagement in the future, my mom and I stopped into Herkner's this past summer to look at engagement rings and see what styles I liked. Randy Dice showed us the perfect options based on my preferences, he also provided great information about rings and how to select a diamond. He even wrote down all of the information for me to pass along to my boyfriend. And now that we are engaged, I am just so thankful that my fiancee went through Herkner's, working with Randy to get my engagement ring. I love the ring, it is absolutely perfect! I also love that for my center diamond my fiancee had the option and picked an estate diamond that was recut to a higher quality, it's nice knowing that the diamond's story gets to continue on in my ring.

We even stopped in the other day to pick up another ring getting repaired, and check on getting a 6-prong setting for the diamond instead of a 4-prong for my engagement ring. Randy came out to talk with us and immediately remembered us both by name, and assured us they'd take care of it when I'm back in town! Always friendly service of the highest quality! My Fiancé and his mom custom designed a ring here and it turned out beautiful BUT after less than 9 months of daily but careful wear, the band bent and a diamond on the band fell out. I do not wear the ring to workout, shower, do dishes, garden, or sleep and do not have a very hands-on job (sit at a computer most of the time). The metal is gold but we were never told of any precautions or concerns with the type of metal or design. We were never told to be cautious with wearing the ring daily or any risks associated with the design of the ring. Since this happened, multiple other professionals have told us the design and quality is poor, there is not enough support or prongs, all of the other diamonds were lose. Additionally, it was voiced by all the professionals we talked to that even with those concerns, what happened should never have after only 9 months and if it did, the fault is on the manufacture. Upon going to address these concerns with Herkner, we were told that the damage is "wear and tear" and they will not cover any repair costs. The associate we talked to said the damage was my fault and I should have known to not wear that ring type so often. She also did not know anything about how to utilize our insurance to cover the cost of repair but warned of the likelihood of our premium increasing so we should just pay the repair cost out of pocket now. I loved going to Herkner Jewelers with my grandparents as a little girl and stare at all the amazing rings. When I got engaged, my husband was determined to get me the ring of my dreams, but as medical students we couldn't afford it, so we got married with just bands (which was fine with me, because I got the man of my dreams). Years later, when we were working out of state, we created a custom setting together for the "engagement ring" that has the initials of our 3 daughters woven into the mounting. We held off on getting the center stone at that point until more school loans were paid off. Last fall, after moving back home to Michigan, my husband surprised me with, "Let's get the center stone for your "big" birthday." I said, Woohoo!! Let's call Herkner Jewelers!!
