I love the gym and the atmosphere. But they’re about 100 years stuck in the past, considering it was around that time that air conditioning was invented.
Yeah yeah I get that having the garage doors open on a 100 degree 90% humidity day and lifting some heavy weights is hardcore bro! But you know what is not hardcore? Passing out from heat stroke. I’m sure I’m not the only one who literally cannot exercise to my fullest capacity in this humidity and heat with no A/C. I’ll keep coming here, cause I do love the vibes. But I can’t believe how hot and disgusting it gets in here on a humid day. Every gym I’ve ever been to has been sufficiently cooled when necessary. I’d think somewhere that calls themself “pro” would do the same. Until I get fed up enough to switch gyms I’ll keep sweating pounds of fluid off each time I come here and continue to whine about it.
Edit: I also wanna add this gym was not very friendly when I first joined (about a year ago) you could tell the staff was all checked out and could care less about their minimum wage job. Which is fine. Except one staff member Luke McGullough was especially small with Napoleon syndrome. Like an angry chihuahua. Luke if you read this I hope you know you will never be a real bodybuilder and your muscles will never be as big as the hole in your ego you’re trying to fill. As I continue to visit this gym through another hot season I’m lowering my rating to 3 stars as it is literally nearly unusable on your typical summer day. Also the other reviewer is correct in that this gym no longer offers a sauna or recovery equipment aside from 1 massage gun sitting by the lockers. Most of the lockers are also non-functional and have fallen apart, even the functional ones may not lock correctly. If you’ve made it this far in my review then I must say congratulations, you may be as petty and thorough as I am. I just came home from a workout here (5/25/24) and I’m in disbelief this gym has any members at all in the summer. It’s BAD in here on a hot day. You might think “ah how bad could it be, this reviewer is just hot and angry”. Nah. It’s that bad. Walking outside to the 90 degree heat index feels like a cool breeze after exiting this sweatshop hell hole. It’s as if satan himself occupies the gym and breathes moist fire into your undergarments when the sun begins to rise. Not to be dramatic, but It’s like taking Vietnam and the Sahara desert and combining them and then setting that new made up place on the surface of the sun.
Edit 8/15 - this place is just annoying at this point. They took away the little recovery equipment they had to put at their nicer location. And now, the vending machines don’t work and have not been restocked in what appears to be months. If you want a half outside gym to train in and don’t expect anything other than bare bones equipment, this will do. Otherwise I’m going down to 2 stars cause it’s clear no one cares about this place.
10/10/24 edit: I’m sorry I’m not sorry I said what I did before while I was hot and hangry. But also want to mention they did fix their janky lockers and put some of the recovery equipment back for member use. They restocked the vending machine too. 3.5/5 stars
3/3/25 edit: added some new pics. If you like your gym dirty, GPF is for you.
5/20 edit: added a pic of some dirty undies that been stankin’ in the corner of the locker room for a couple weeks now lmao.
6/30 edit: bruh. Ya’ll blocked off the outside turf? AND I’m supposed to go up and check in and the front desk even though I used the Brivo app? Lol surely there is a better solution than metal cages someone could still hop over or squeeze under if they were determined. Still hot af and I do not recommend if you have epilepsy as the new lights they added are some weird LED ones that turn everything around you into strobe effect lighting. Just watch the video....
Read moreLet me start by saying that Grandview Pro Fitness has really impacted my life. The training team as well as the Grandview primary care staff are amazing. They truly care about each members health and fitness and they encourage their clients to strive for the best. I initially started out with the 12 week fitness challenge and continued on to obtain a membership. I regulary attended the group fitness classes and truly noticed a difference in how i felt and looked physically. The trainers changed up the workouts every time and i began to feel more confident in doing workouts outside of classes as well. I have to leave for a bit due to some unforseen circumstances but i hope i can go back soon. Thanks for all of your hard work, patience and existence. Keep on...
Read moreBest gym I've ever been to! They've got all the equipment and weights you could ever need, and being able to take everything outside to the outdoor turf area is a great bonus. The staff are all super duper friendly and knowledgeable. The other members are super friendly as well, and as a woman, I've never felt unsafe going to the gym alone in the middle of the night (24/7/365 gym access woop woop!). I DO wish that they would be a little stricter with preventing people from setting up tripods/recordings in the middle of the gym, though. They're always in the way, and it's somewhat uncomfortable knowing that you may end up in the background of somebodies social media video. However, these days this will be a thing at any gym you go to, so I can't really...
