Peaceful environment as well as service with a smile. Well, all but one. She has an extremely rude and pushy attitude. She doesn’t really know answers as she was incorrect every time she waited on me. Understand, completely wrong ~ every time. Wrong about the process. Wrong about the price. She even tried to argue with me, a paying customer, twice. All while in front of other customers. She didn’t try to lower her voice or take me aside, she simply did not seem to care. As I have worked Sales and Marketing for 20+ years, supervised an amazing team. My territory included the state of WI, and northern Illinois. I refuse to be disrespectful as employee or customer. Yet, at one point, I actually had to go to my car and get previous receipts to show her I had just been there a week or two ago. According to the stores own receipts, and my full, complete and timely purchases, her information was incorrect. Everyone else seems to enjoy their time with customers, while understanding that pleasant environment brings customers back into their lovely store. All others worked closely with me, considerate, professional, and fun. Mind you, I did not meet with her first. I worked with whomever was available upon my arrival. So I was never expecting the rude, and disrespectful kind of reception from her. My first few experiences were amazing, helpful and as I mentioned professionals. The jewelry is beautiful. The store is well kept. I just needed some private pieces engraved as name tags for gifts. I had so many, only had a few done at a time. As it was explained by the first kind gentleman, they couldn’t be sure if I could get exactly what I wanted. He worked closely with me to explore other options. Well, they were exactly what I wanted and turned out beautifully! Happily, I brought back a few more at a time. I cannot tell you how much that meant as these were an addition to a keepsake gift for each of my children. Unfortunately, with my last 3 pieces to engrave, I’m told, by the above described rude employee, they no longer have an engraver. I consider this my mistake. I’ve had many family illnesses in the past year… unable to complete my keepsake project. I now wish I had them all completed at once. Silly reasons like unsure which one, which color, to gift which child. So the lapse is on me. Oh how I wish I’d have finished before. However, although I absolutely recommend this store if you’re shopping for beautiful jewelry, in a comfortable, peaceful and engaging (no pun intended;) setting, be aware. Just ask for someone else, in any case you are met with rude, disrespect. Others in house, are completely capable and happy to extend kindness, professionalism, and make sure you enjoy your experience. To answer the jewelers reply. I do not leave my personal information for all to see. The review is done under my google account which came up automatically. As such, I was not asked to submit personal information. Your employee knows exactly who she is. She was rude, disrespectful, unprofessional all 3 times I encountered this particular employee. It is my hope that others who visit your business understand, they do not have to accept that behavior as customer service and request to work with someone else. I will not be leaving any personal information. I wish you the very best. And absolutely love your little nook in the city, Burlington, WI. Great store… beautiful merchandise. Character, and charisma. My business with you is complete, per your employee. I will continue on elsewhere. Thank you for the beautiful work completed to this...
Read moreIf I could give zero, I would. Simply the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I brought 6 watches into The Jewelry Center (Greenfield) for battery replacements because their website advertised that they service Invicta watch batteries. Four of the six watches were Invicta brand. I was dealing with the owner and the battery replacements were done within a day. A few days after I brought them home, I noticed one of the watch second hands wasn't moving and there was some handwriting on the tag that stated "autom". I called the store and spoke to a woman who was very rude to me and told me to google what autom means. Apparently it means that the watch doesn't operate on a battery. I asked her why I was charged a battery replacement for a watch that doesn't require a battery, and she said that I was helped by the owner and since he deals with diamonds and jewelry, that he couldn't have made a mistake. I was going to have to bring all the watches back in order to clear this up. I did so, and when I started to describe the situation, the owner, Dean, interrupted me and told me to "get to the point". I told him that I was charged for four Invicta battery replacements and only received three. He picked up a different watch and said that one was the automatic. That wasn't even the watch I was questioning, so it turns out I was charged for two replacements that were not done. He then stated that "he was just helping me out, and didn't have to change those batteries". I remind you, this wasn't a favor. It was an agreed upon exchange of goods and services for money. No apology, just refunded my money for the two battery replacements that were never done....
Read moreProbably the best thing about this establishment is the limited hours as once you are inside, you are bound to fall victim to their questionable business practices. Not sure where the positive reviews are coming from, but I’m assuming they are either purchased or from folks that have never shopped around.
Update: Nowhere on the trade-in policy does it have an expiration. Exchange, yes. Trade-in, no. If there is an issue of having someone else’s name on the receipt, then offer the alternative of bringing in the purchaser with me to attest to the sale.
The real reason a trade-in wasn’t offered at any rate whatsoever is because the purchaser was blatantly ripped off in the initial sale and Jewelry Center wants no accountability for it. Despite the advice to not bring it to other jewelers for appraisal prior to leaving, I sought out two independent appraisals. Not only were defects on the unworn jewelry pointed out, the appraisal value and sale cost were laughable to them. Our grandmother bought jewelry here often which likely accounts for the purchaser choosing this place out of sentimental reasons. In the attached images, one can see that Jewelry Center sold above the “appraised value”, which is questionable in its own right… More importantly, they sold a defective 14k hollow gold chain bracelet for over 4x it’s actual value…
At the end of the day, all sales (whether with integrity or not) are final. I’m not arguing for a different outcome, but am doing my diligence as a consumer to warn other customers who don’t do their research and...
