I ordered a beautiful all glass lamp from World Market. Unfortunately, it arrived shattered. I immediately took photos and emailed customer service for an exchange. After 4 days past with no answer from the company I drive to a world market. They did not have the lamp in-stock. They offered the refund me but only offered to refund my a portion of my money and did not want to refund shipping and taxes. I declined this as I would loose $20 for no reason and not get another lamp. I emailed the company that day again- with an explanation and photos a second time. After two days I got an email requesting photos. I replied that I have now sent photos 3 times and am not getting anywhere. The next day I called customer service- they advised they did receive the photos and I should hear something in 24-48 hours. After 48hrs and no response I finally called customer service again. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes I worked with a very kind lady who assured me they had everything I needed to return the item. They had the item in stock so she could exchange it for me. She confirmed my email and said I should receive an email with a return label and shortly after information about the shipment of my new lamp. I was relieved. Until now.    Read moreThis store used to be my favorite, but my last few visits have been unpleasant. The first cashier constantly bosses me around.... when IM the customer. Each time I come in i am disregarded or other customers will get extra attention. each time i wait in line they purposely cut me off with another customer and the managers are gossiping instead of ringing me up after making me wait ten minutes, clearly seeing the mistreatment their cashier pulled on me. i finally get rung up and the card reader cant respond to my card. Its a typical mastercard from a accredited online bank. But the manager told me i have no money or that its not working. that was insulting and uncomfortable to have a manager of your store blame their outdated cardreader on my chipped debit card. the previous manager that was heavy set and chipper never made customers wait and always helped me find what i needed. She greeted my kids and always complimented our family. The employees that worked with her were also helpful and the PRICES WERE FAIR. its $5 for a tiny bag of pancakes =/? and i get bad customer service on top of it. I dont feel comfortable shopping at this location now i miss the previous staff you had. Please hire them back they made shopping a pleasure. Got home and the rug had obviously been sitting in a damp area for a long time because it was damp, had mildew and some mold. So obviously took it back for a refund. Well this is where the 1 star comes in. The manager there tried to short change me the taxes stating he canât refund taxes if it was bought online stating I paid taxes in another state. After calling BS and getting stern to the point of argumentative he finally refunded the taxes too. His excuse was taxes are like shipping and handling and he canât refund that which totally BS.
