This is my 3rd time eating at this Longhorn's. Visited the Longhorn's in Spartanburg 2 weeks prior and everything was excellent. Also sat at the bar as I didn't want to wait for a seat. The first time I ate here was 3 years ago. Great experience. 2nd time was several months ago with a friend. Good experience but steak was not cooked correctly. They redid it and it was fine. So yesterday I was tired from work. Went to the bar for faster service. Waitress looked tired and not very happy. I put in my usual and asked for it well done. Asked for ranch on the side and half & half sweet tea. I was really looking forward to that tea. Lol. Tea had a taste like 10x sugar was used instead of regular. I opted for ice water. Salad came out with ranch already on it. Too much for me, but ate it anyway. I'm halfway thru my salad and realize I don't have any crusty bread. I ask my waitress/bar lady and she says she'll get me some. Couple beside me asked a few minutes later realizing it wasn't going to magically appear for them either. So I'm waiting for my steak.....and people are having their drink orders passed to them next to me. I've got people directly behind me reaching next to me to get their drinks ???? I have eaten at several bar situations and drinks are usually passed on to people at a designated spot... Not right next to a customer eating their meal. Very uncomfortable but oh well... So steak arrives and it's Tough. Like grissley tough. Loaded baked is fine and crusty bread was excellent. I told my waitress steak was tough. They took it back and brought me a new steak and new baked potato. Potato this time was crunchy. Steak was better .....but not great. They were all very accommodating to me. I'm just not sure why there is a difference between this Longhorn's and the Spartanburg Longhorn's. I had a well done steak at the Spartanburg location and it literally melted in my mouth. It also had a crusty seasoning on it ? This one I had last night was just bland. Also I've never had to ask for bread to be brought out at any Longhorn's unless it was still cooking which usually waitress will say...
Read moreSecond try update. Waited over a year to retry. We didn't have a great experience the first time we went with our steaks being undercooked quite a bit even after sending them back three times with no resolve (they were great after we finished cooking them at home). The chef's may not follow USDA recommendations for steak temp since it's easier to cook a little more each time than having to redo an overcooked steak, but they were still under what we wanted, but the steaks were seasoned very well. My outlaw ribeye came out rare, which I ordered medium, it wasn't a blue rare this time around like our first visit. I did ask for a longer cook time to bring it to medium, it was still rare but not as bad. It probably would've come up to medium if it sat covered or under the lamp for a minute or so. However I guess it is better to undercook a steak than over cook it since that cannot be fixed once overdone. I know these are difficult times in the industry and it is easy for everyone to be highly stressed. We sat at the bar, the bartender was very attentive to us even though they had a lot of take out orders and had become busy since we arrived. The restaurant was very clean. I'm glad we gave it a second chance, still may be a dice roll when you go depending on when and who you get. Someone had suggested in another review to order a level up with your preference of temperature with your steak. I am not to sure If I would try this since I myself have overcooked steaks at home and when you are ordering a 26.00 steak I understand we want it cooked right but we don't want it overcooked past our liking. Also the prime rib is no longer on the menu but it could be because the cost of prime has been high these past few months and is finally starting to stabilize in...
Read moreI was dining in for my birthday. My daughter and I waited about 70 mins for a table. After we were seated we did not get to place our order for drinks until 20 mins later. After, we got drink we waited another 15 mins to place our order. The salad came out after about 15 minutes, it was a Caesar salad and did not have parmesan. I asked for cheese and once the waiter brought out the cheese I noticed when putting it on my salad that it was wet! I don't know why it was wet but I realized it was sticking to the cup and stuck on my salad. Asked for another salad, which we received another 15 minutes later. Then our steak came out. I asked for no pink, I would have even settled for slight pink at this point because we were ready to go. The steak was medium rare. I told the waiter and he did not was to place an order for another steak. He wanted to take the same steak we had touched and cut on and put it back on the grill; UNSANITARY. I told him that would burn it, and he said that was to be expected. I told him I wanted a new steak, and he kept suggesting to recook the same steak. Guess what... it came out black and smelling burnt. I told him to just give me the check and the manager came over. I informed him we had been there for 3 hrs or more and told him about the events that had occur. He didn't offer a solution, nor did he apologize, he said " dinner is on us ". Then, he picked up our plates of food, we never ate, and walked away. Exactly how did you pay for dinner when all we had was a side salad and water!! I kept requesting a check to pay for something because I definitely would have went to corporate with it to complain. Just expect to get if'y food and mediocre service, also to wait a long time before...
