Ginger Bear Ink — Attraction in Greenwood

I don't like the idea of leaving negative reviews or feedback, at all. As a matter of fact, take a look at my Google or Facebook and you'll see I've never felt the need to do so. Until now. With so many other tattoo and piercing shops in central Indiana, I can't come up with any reason I'd ever recommend someone taking a gamble on this one.

What should have been a very simple and straightforward nose piercing, my first piercing of any kind in more than 20 years, turned into not only a total waste of time and money, but quite the frustrating experience too. I told Rob exactly what I was looking for, which was just a very plain and small silver stud in my nostril. My exact words were "something to accent the gray" in my salt-and-pepper hair and beard. I made it clear I did NOT want anything bold or flashy. There was no room for any misunderstanding on why I was there and what I wanted. "Don't worry brother, I got you" was his reply. Turns out, he most definitely did not. When he held up the mirror after the piercing I found myself staring at some chintzy-looking fake diamond rhinestone thing that was actually a nostril screw. Not anything close to what I told him I was there for. "Don't worry brother, it'll grow on you" was his reply after I asked what in the hell this thing was in my nose. Come to find out the next day through our FB Messenger conversations that he didn't even have the hardware I told him I wanted. He knowingly stuck something in my face I specifically told him I did not want, presumably because he really needed that money.

Since I was the last appointment of the night, I didn't push the issue too hard. Figured I'd sleep on it, take another look in the morning and see if I was any less repulsed by it. I wasn't. I didn't like the fake little rhinestone look at all, and I really really really didn't like the sight of a screw hanging out the bottom of the inside of my nostril, either.

Upon contacting him the next day through Messenger, the basic gist of his replies were that it was somehow all my fault, I said I wanted a piercing and that's what I got so what's your problem, you'll have to schedule another appointment if you want it removed, I don't even have the jewelery you want, no I'm not refunding your money, this matter is considered closed, etc etc. All very unpleasant blaming, denial of any responsibility. He can keep his little $50 if he really needs it that bad. I suppose the lesson to be learned for that price is that the next place I go to get the work done I wanted (and paid for) in the first place, is to keep my eyes locked on that piercing gun right up until the time it hits my nose.

I had nothing going on tonight and on a whim looked up this shop. Checked out the reviews and I was satisfied - all positive. After walking in, I was even more pleased. Every person, including other customers, were all beyond friendly and it felt like being at home. Smiley did my ink - wonderful hand and clean lines. Nice guy too. Did my ribs and pinky finger. He was very accommodating, gave me a water and even an extra pillow so I could lay comfortably during my rib tattoo. He also stayed late when I decided I wanted just one more tattoo on my pinky. Upon getting my tattoo, other artists came over to talk and at checkout we all talked for awhile. I honestly didn't want to go home as they were all so friendly and my kind of people. I will definitely be back for more ink very soon. Fair pricing...

Tonight was the first time my boyfriend and I have ever been at Under Your Skin Tattoo. When we walked in the atmosphere was amazing. Felt like you can just go there and hang out. Everybody there was extremely nice and helpful. The customer service was professional. I went in to get a tattoo for my grandma who recently passed. I showed them exactly what I wanted and Kenny did a PHENOMENAL job on my tattoo. Kenny was professional with everything he had done tonight. I love how creative he was with my tattoo and made it unique.

I would HIGHLY recommend Under Your Skin Tattoo to anyone who wants to get a badass tattoo or piercing or just go to hang out with awesome people.
