Royal Spoil Spa & Nails — Attraction in Greenwood

UPDATE: After I wrote this review, there was a nice response from ‘owner’ that said to call and they would make it right. Not true. I called and spoke to the owner of the salon and she had no clue what I was talking about. She also said she’d figure it out and call me back, that never happened. The worst part about this is, someone wants you to think they are taking care of their issues but they are not, it’s just someone following up on reviews to make them look better with no intention of doing anything about it. Just FYI.

I brought my 15 year old here about a week ago to get acrylic nails put on. I wasn’t paying attention, but as we walked out the door, I looked at my daughters nails and was pretty surprised to see the my were shooting STRAIGHT UP instead of straight out. I thought this was so strange and crazy looking. We went back inside and asked the lady who did her nails what happened and she explained this occurred because her natural nails are short. I was sort of mind boggled by that response and I told her as kindly as I could, the nails looked strange and are not supposed to be this way. Even her coworkers were coming over to look at the nails and were making faces at how crazy they looked. To her credit, she did offer to redo them but we had already waited almost 2 hours and my daughter had to be at work. We couldn’t wait any longer so I asked for a refund so I could take her to another place to get them done at different time. The lady said that was not possible. I asked for half off-not possible. I told her since the nails go straight up, she’s going to hurt herself but the lady just said ‘she should be careful.’ So we left. I took her to work, and went to a graduation party where I showed people the pictures of her nails and everyone thought it was hilarious so we laughed and moved on. But now this week, she put her hand straight down between some seats to grab her phone and since her nails go straight up instead of down, she ripped her ENTIRE real nail clean off. She’s in a lot of pain and it looks to be infected. We have to take her to the doctor tomorrow but we’re supposed to be on our way to Florida. So the place I normally go to religiously is unfortunately closed on Sundays and my daughter (6) and I needed our toes done for an event so I searched for nail salons in greenwood that were open on Sundays and has at least 4 stars or better in rating, I came Across this place. Upon entering I noticed it was very cluttered with random decor and not very clean. I also noticed we weren't greeted and had to walk up to someone as they were working, which I hate doing as it interrupts someone else's experience. We then went to get our pedicures and they didn't accommodate my daughters height at all in the chair and made her wait forever while mine were done even though I said I was happy to wait for two people to open up. Then after I told my nail tech to be gentle with the top of my foot she wasn't and I lost my water proof bandage , I didn't have an open cut but a painful little sunburnt area that would have been fine if left u scrubbed . We go to move to the dryers and they didn't even help my daughter out of her chair . We get to the dryer and the sandals he gave her were too big and they touched her big toe and messed up her polish and he got all Mad about it as if it were her fault he didn't accommodate her size as they do at our normal salon. So she felt horrible and embarrassed while he fixed it. He then took all Of the sandlas and toe separators off her foot and I had to help her scoot back up towards the dryer . So, I procrastinated until 5:30pm on a Sunday to get my nails done for a job interview Monday at noon. I had originally tried to get in at the mall, but they turned me away since they were closing at 6 (I didn't realize that most, if not all but very few nail salons close around 6pm on Sundays). I am actually grateful that I got turned away because I was able to find this amazing salon! I called to make sure I could get in and with no hesitation, the gentleman said I could do a walk in and he would be ready for me within 20 minutes. When I arrived, he was spot on and just finishing up a customer, and by the time I finished picking out my nails polish, Tim was ready for me!! He was very kind and gave me exactly what I wanted/asked for. I received quality results for a cheaper price than I anticipated, so I was even happier for that!! I was very impressed and pleased with my entire experience, start to finish!! I will definitely be going here anytime I need my nails done and I would absolutely recommend this salon and Tim to anyone.
