Macy's — Attraction in Gurnee

Bought 6 boxes of Frango mints (16oz/45ct) to give as gifts for my 3 friends from out of town. I was planning to give them 2 boxes each so I requested the cashier for 3 small plastic bags so I can show my friends that I bought them from Macy's. The manager/supervisor named Marissa who was right there intervened and reprimanded the cashier that he should not give me more than 1 bag for my purchase! I explained that the 2 bags she would give me would go a long way to promote the store. She very dismissive of my request and I was getting really annoyed by her attitude. I then offered to pay for 2 bags just so I can evenly distribute the Frangos to my friends with their nice plastic bags instead of just grabbing some old grocery bags. She said they are not for sale quite arrogantly and now looking/pretending to be too busy to even engage me in a civil conversation. I asked if I should return the items and then purchase them one by one, will I get 6 bags instead? She would hear none of it so I said sarcastically "Good Luck to Macy's !" since I have no plans of ever coming back to this store and spread the word about their horrible...

This use to be a lovely small scale Macys to shop. It has now turned into the dirtiest poor quality department store I’ve have ever seen. Below are pics of the filthy store that greets customers. With the new addition of the Back stage section, Macy’s appears to be competing with TJ Maxx and Ross! In the past Macys had a great selection of styles for plus size women, petites, junior and misses as well as men’s. Now all they have are t-shirts and jeans in the plus size section. Plus size women want nice things for work, dressing up to go work, or trendy casual styles. I can no longer find the quality brands in plus size anymore, INC, Calvin Klein, Anne Klein. The Gurnee store is absolutely disgusting 🤮 to see it managed in this way. All the fitting rooms have been shut down except one, clothes piled up everywhere waiting to be put away, products along the register in disarray…. WTH! If this is the best Macys has to offer in Gurnee you would be better off shopping TJ Maxx or Marshall’s or Target. At least the stores are clean and neat. Macys Gurnee...

I am disappointed with the recent customer service at this location. I understand the return order was a third party however, I did not deserve to be disrespected by the employee.l showed her the return instructions I received by Macy’s. I had the items and also the order numbers. The employee was rude and had an attitude. She did not try and said that this was a smaller location and I thought how does that makes sense if the store can just ship the materials back to the warehouse. I asked to contact with the manager and she refused a couple times until I insisted. At the end, I was disappointed and disrespected. The employee and the manager did not apologize.The manager stood there and observed. I understand the staff has nothing to do with the online return instructions, but they should treat all their customers with respect.
