This is such a Gem in the Village of Gurnee! "Fresh Fish Hawaiian Style" is their Tag Line. Nestled between Five Guys & Jersey Mike's in front of Gurnee Mills. In my humble understanding this is a Franchise with 52 locations (this is facts) scattered throughout the United States. They are currently in DE, IL, IN, NJ, NC, OH, PA, SC & TN. They were Founded in 2016 so they have 5 Years of Experience in the U.S. Food & Consumer Market. I gave them 4 out of 5 stars because I have identified the following opportunities within their Fast Casual Style Restaurant:

They need to do a better job @ connecting with their market on a human-to-human level. It would be nice to be greeted upon arrival instead of always saying a friendly hello to them. I placed an order through Door Dash for Friends at T-Mobile in Fountain Square Waukegan, called to kindly request they would send along what I consider the best chopsticks any Asian Style Restaurant offers in Gurnee, and when Door Dash Arrived I was sans my fav chopsticks. I had to munch my food with a fork. They need to have better communication amongst their Team to ensure consumers receive their requests. Especially when you're forking out Top Dollar on Delivery Orders. I stopped in yesterday and picked up a Ramune Premium Carbonated Soft Drink in the Peach flavor. I found the bottle useless & horrible design. You need an Engineering degree to open it up. Thank goodness I came across an ingenious man who opened it up for me. And believe me I'm resourceful gal. It was hard to drink. I don't know the allure. The Japanese will have to Enlighten me, they must be doing something right though, they are the 2nd largest economy of the world. Case-in-point: I must be missing the mark on this one. The flavor was delightful however.

Things I consider they are doing well:

I can't say how much I love the plastic containers they gift along with the Poke bowls. I multi-purpose them @ home and hope you do too to diminish the impact on the environment. I love the ingredients, they definitely taste fresh and they are generous with the Avocado on my Fav Poke Bowl the "Johnny Utah".

PLEASE give this review the attention it deserves.

I’ve been coming here consistently ever since moving into the area. The food is unique and the selection is vast. It’s what brings me back despite the obvious lack of customer service.

However, today, 11/17, I came to dine-in and witnessed something EXTREMELY disappointing. I cannot stress it enough. The male employee was yelling and scolding at a new trainee the whole duration while I and other customers were dining (nearly 15 minutes) and I am sure it was happening before as well. She was clearly upset and stayed silent the whole time while the man continued to yell. We ended up having to leave early due to this.

Along with this, they have raised all their menu prices to ridiculous costs.

The already ongoing lack of customer service along with this disturbing situation needs to be addressed. I will not be coming back to...

This restaurant gets five stars from me for their service. I’m not a fish eater so there’s not a lot of selection for me. I either have to get a bowl without any meat or get chicken and the chicken is not very impressive. However, all of their ingredients are very fresh and the proportions of each item in the bowl are perfect. Their mochi ice cream is fantastic, and they have a very nice selection of flavors. But what stands out to me the most is how fast they are and how friendly they are and how clean the restaurant is. If I’m picking up an order that was placed online it is always always ready when I walk in the door even if they have a line of people! And I’m always greeted with a smile as soon as I walk through the door. As a delivery driver it is probably my favorite place to pick up...

UPDATE 6/2025: I hadn't come to eat here in a very long time, but got a job in the area. So I started coming here for lunch pretty frequently. Every time I come here, both ladies that work there always make rude facial expressions when I ask for an extra topping or vegetable. They get so annoyed that they have to take a couple steps to grab the extra thing I am asking for or they just seem so pissed to be serving me. They act like the extra food is coming off of their plate. Coming here the last seven or eight times I already know I have to deal with that. Overall between the attitude, rude faces that they make, and poor customer service that I always receive, I think I just have to stop going. Ordering from their website was really easy. Inside was nice and bright and clean. Food was so good!

I ordered delivery. Previously, I ordered the Duke Poke Bowl. It was delicious, but the peppers made it spicy. This second time, I ordered the Salmon Build Your Own. I had added sushi rice, salad, cucumber, edamine, seaweed salad, green onion, pineapple, carrots, tofu, sweet soy, ponzu, nori, and crispy onion. It was a great combination of ingredients. It tasted excellent. The pineapple and sweet soy made it tasty. Photo is of the Duke Poke Bowl.
