If you've been craving African flavors with a plant-based twist @Voila Afrique Restaurant NJ does not disappoint! I tried the vegan egusi with fufu, coconut rice, a Beyond Burger in tomato stew, spicy plantains and puff puff for dessert. Every dish was bold, comforting and packed with flavor! Who said going vegan means missing out on authentic flavor? Voilá Afrique proves otherwise! #voilaafrique #westafrican #vegan #egusi #culture

The employee was really rude and I was picking apples but the apples had scratches-really big ones and I put them back because I didn’t want them anymore. And then the employee says “Why are you not buying this?” And I say “Because it has really big scratches and I don’t want to buy them anymore.” And then he starts cussing at me and then laughs at me and speaks to his other employee in Spanish and it’s very obvious he’s talking about me and I tell him I will speak to your manager about this because what he did was racist because he also looked at another Asian weirdly so you can just tell. He then proceeded to say “I don’t care.” Next day I call back to the store and talked to the Korean woman manager, after I complained the man employee, she told me she cannot understood very well, so she wants next time go to giant farmer talk to the Korean man manager . I want to asking she 2 questions. 1. Will she talk to the the really Korean man manage?2.Will they talk to the man employee? that's all. But she didn't listen to me and hang up the phone. I thinking "WHY"? Yesterday already 2 people know it the whole story, and today I CALL BACK the Korean woman already know it, but she often interrupt when I am talking and didn't wait for me finish the talk, so had to call back to the store talk to her again and asked her the 2questions. when I call back to the store, there was a woman talk to me who is a cashier, and she said " I know you call early this morning, why are you calling back again?" Then I want to tell her because the Korean woman manage she hang up the phone, and I didn't finish my conversations. I need to ask her 2questions. THEN AGAIN!!!The cashier hang up the phone didn't let me explain and finished. Really ridiculous! They treating customer like this. DO THE TIGHT THING IS IT DIFFICULT??? The whole thing is very simple and clear, the company and customer need to communication what's the issue that's all and solve it. Talk and listen!!!! Like what I said, I respect everyone and their job, but they do t respect their job and customers. why did they can make it such complicated and I didn't feel any respect. It's ridiculous! If customer gently and has manners talk to the employee, but the employee treating customer so rude and intimidate, someone need to take the responsibility, this is a basically common sense. And it shouldn't happened! If the store manager cannot deal with it, what's the customer...

ugghhh.. the owner is unbelievably rude!! few years ago, i bought 3 fruit basket for xmas. i ordered it two weeks before but i picked it up on the day before xmas. the people that i have given the fruit baskets to, said the the fruits are not fresh. theyre mostly bad! i spoke to the owner, he said i cant prove that i bought it there! seriously??

today, i had a terrible experience again! i went there to buy fish and vegetables, so i went for the fish first but since it will take awhile to prep it, i went to buy the vegetables while waiting for the fish.

once im done paying the vegetable, i went back and get the fish. there was this guy who said i cant go back with my cart. and i said, "im only gonna get the fish" and he said, "no. u cant" and he took my cart that i already paid for and put it on the side. i said, "but the fish is heavy, i need a cart"..( i bought about 40lbs of fish) and he said, "thats okay. just go" i frankly want to scream in his face but i kept it in!

my point is, #1, theres no rule or sign stating that i cant do that. 2nd, i feel that the guy singled me out thinking i will shoplift when clearly, he can just check the receipt when i go out.! 3rd, as far as im concern, im still in the same store!

so went i went home, i called the manager and tell them my terrible experience. i dont know what he is talking about but i dont understand his heavy chinese accent..our conversation stopped it when he said, "we're very busy".. what??

anyway, im going to hmart next time to buy my asian food needs! this place is filthy anyway! their floor is nasty and watchout not only for the...

I'm not sure what's up with the bad reviews. I can only speak for the produce, which they have a huge selection of. If there is some random produce item you can't find in a regular supermarket, you will probably find it here. Yes, some of it might be hit or miss, but it's so cheap! I would say it's about 30-50% off supermarket prices. But for a lot of the items, you have to buy more than one of in order to get the "sale price", and that's how they get you to spend more money. The vegetables are pretty fresh and last throughout the week (sometimes longer) and I have never had an issue with them. It's really the fruits you have to watch out for. Some of them are on the verge of going bad but the thing is - you can't really tell - until you see some mold on it a few days after it's been sitting in your fridge. That being said, if you are buying fruits (especially berries or grapes), you need to eat them within one or two days.

The seafood and meat sections look okay but a little dingy. I haven't bought anything from there for this reason. I saw a few great bundle deals for meat, which was unbelievably cheap. So cheap, that's it's suspect, which is why I'm iffy. They also have regular grocery items like spices, snacks, a deli, household items, cleaning, etc. Some things are just as cheap as the produce, but some are not. But if you don't want to make multiple stops (especially during Covid), this place is a great one stop shop. However, the parking lot can be a bit of a hot mess sometimes. If you can find street parking, you're better...
