I brought them a 40+ year old garnet and opal gold butterfly ring that belonged to my late mother and means the world to me, as far as I could see it just needed a missing opal replaced. Fast forward, it turns out the remaining opal and both garnets on the ring were also broken and needed to be replaced, along with all of the prongs holding the stones in. When all was said and done, they replaced both opals AND both garnets, along with all 8 gold prongs and didn’t even charge me a cent for the garnets. The owner, John, kindly expressed “we had two matching garnets laying around, I’m not going to charge you for them”. This ring has been broken for over 10 years, and I don’t have much left to remember my mom by, so to see it fully restored and reshaped to such beautiful condition for a price that was literally next to nothing almost brought me to tears. The turnover time of their repairs, including getting the opals ordered and delivered, was less than 48 hours, and the new pear shaped opals (that I hadn’t even known were originally placed in the ring until they informed me that they were once pear shaped) were more beautiful than I could’ve ever imagined. I even told them that I would have paid anything to be able to wear the ring again, as it’s priceless to me, they could have easily taken advantage of my emotional attachment to the ring, and they still asked for an extremely fair price, I almost couldn’t even believe it. I highly recommend this location for all of your jewelry repairs & purchases. They’re an honest location that provides expedited repairs and quality work at extremely reasonable prices. John Drummond is especially helpful when it comes to making suggestions regarding jewelry modification. They have a small yet tasteful selection of jewelry available for purchase. Inevitably, I always find a new piece to buy when I visit! I have also traded in pieces I am no longer wearing. I feel I have always been treated fairly and been given a good trade in price. A few weeks ago I decided that I needed to have several of my rings resized. I am a strong advocate of reading reviews: good, bad, ugly and indifferent. I found Drummond jewelers, and 'yes' I read almost every review. The majority of them were 5 stars, and the not so good ones, were always accompanied by a response from Drummond/staff. I decided to go with the good reviews; I'm a very picky person when it comes to having people work on my jewelry. However, my experience from the minute I walked into Drummonds, walked out, and returned was just amazing.
