Went there once while visiting the area. The restaurant is nice and clean and in a nice area. We found it by searching on Google and the details show that the serve halal food. We went in and asked the person on the counter if the meat is halal, he said yes very quietly. Then when we were seated and the server came, we asked the server if the meat is halal and she also nodded very lightly. I was there with my cousin and she did not feel comfortable in their response. Anyway we ordered the food, my cousin wanted to order chicken tandoori but since she didn't feel comfortable in their response to halal meat, she ordered fish. I ordered lamb chops and my daughter ordered chicken nuggets with fries. When the food came, it looked good. All the food items we ordered tasted good and was nicely presented. Even the chicken nuggets and fries were good. I really liked the lamb chops. The prices are on a little expensive side, but you can expect this from the restaurant of that type, it is a proper dine-in restaurant. My lamp chops came with rice and I don't like rice so I asked if I can substitute them with naan, but the server said she can't do that. I didn't like that, they need to be flexible for the customer and it is not a difficult thing. Some restaurants do this. So, I had to order extra naan and my rice were wasted. It is not good to waste food so the restaurants need to be flexible, not everyone like rice. But anyway overall experience was good except their response to our halal meat question. Later on I search online and I found out that their lamb and goat is halal only. So they should have told us that and also they need to put that on their menu. It is good that my cousin didn't order chicken and instead ordered fish. But if they had told us that when we asked it would have been better. Because of these two things I have given them 3 stars, otherwise I would have given...
Read moreWe have been to a handful of Indian restaurants and while this isn't the best one we've been to, it's still delicious. The service is a bit understaffed, which makes sense for the slower food service. I'd rather not sacrifice quality though, so the wait was alright. We ordered a handful of items; bread basket, cheese stuffed naan, vegetable pakoras, vegetable samosas and then our meals. Two of the three appetizers came out fast. The vegetable pakoras were better than the pakoras at our regular establishment. The naan was a little on the bland side. I prefer the garlic and herb covered naan where it's still slightly greasy from the olive oil and garlic.
We had a small hiccup with service. The meals came out and one wasn't ours. No big deal, but it took a while for the actual item to come. After we were just about done eating, the cheese naan came out. Which was not really worth ordering since it's just small pieces of cream cheese inside the bread.
The meals were good. A number 3 on the spice scale was just right for someone who likes spicy. 5 would have killed me. The only real complaint about my specific meal was it said it was cream cheese and almond paste chicken, but it just tasted like a grilled chicken. A good grilled chicken, but I guess I expected maybe a creamy sauce or more cheese. It was tasty, but I must have misinterpreted the menu.
All of us enjoyed our meals. We could have had the appetizers a bit later since the food took so long, but it gave us time for more talking among the table. The staff did bring water all the time and kept the drinks refilled, so that's a plus.
Overall, I would try out other items next time just to see, but the...
Read moreI will start by saying I am incredibly disappointed in the service I received from this place today. I placed an order through Uber eats and after almost two hours of waiting for it, the app notified me that it had been cancelled. I called the restaurant to ask if I could go instead and pick up the order because surely it must've been a mistake for them to take this long and not have it, and I was told the order was not yet ready. I spoke to a lady who said the kitchen was very backed up so it would take a couple extra minutes to finish the order. I told her it was alright, and repeated that I would be picking it up instead. I even said I would pay full price for it even though I had gone through the trouble of ordering through Uber eats and waiting almost two hours for the food. I receive a call from the restaurant a couple of minutes after, this time from a man, saying his manager had told him since the food had been cancelled through the Uber eats app I needed to place a new order and wait at least 45 minutes until the food was ready to be picked up. Almost a whole extra hour!! I could hear what I assume is the manager speaking on the side and telling him the order was cancelled. I assume this because the man kept asking me to hold so he could consult with his manager. Why she didn't address me personally is something I don't understand. I didn't feel like the service was appropriate and they didn't value the costumer. At this point I don't really care how good the food might be, if I have to wait almost three hours for it, it's not really worth it in my opinion. Let alone adding the poor costumer service on top of it....
