You will LOVE IT!
It's not often I give 5 stars to any establishment, a restaurant at that. Because it limits my ability to give other establishment 5 stars when they are better. But The Twisted Crab just hit the 5 star level on this visit.
Wife and I went on a last minute spurt while out shopping and were hungry. Heard about this place, but knew we had to try. So we went on a Monday, knowing this place must get busy, I thought this would be the best day to go. When we got there, they still had a nice crowed, that spoke volumes on what we could expect. To them it was slow, I would hate to be there on the weekends and holidays, it must be busy!
We were lead to a both table by the window, hostess covered the table with a paper table cloth and wrote our servers name on it. "Seleena" was here name and she was as friendly as beautiful. I knew we were about to get messy with some serious seafood and good service!
Seleena took our drink order. They had Coke and Pepsi products I think and bar items. We both had a water and beer (Michelob Ultra and Corona). Looked over the menu and I knew what I wanted because the menu was similar to a similar restaurant in Virginia Beach called Shaken' Crab, its said that Tasty Crab is its little sister.
Anyway, Seleena bought out our drinks, we passed on the appetizers and went straight to the entry. I had the combo snow crab legs and shrimp that came with corn and potatoes and in addition some sausage with the combo sauce. It was steamed in a bag with the sauce over it. My wife had something similar minus the snow crab legs.
Seleena bought our food out in a matter of minutes, prior to, she brought us a bucket, bibs with a crab on it and get this, "PLACTIC GLVOES"! I was getting excited now!
I put on my "messy gear" and prepared for the excitement of food - I was not let down. Prepared to order, hot and steamy, flavored with proper season and in massive amounts. We chowed down like it was our last meal. Sauce going everywhere, it got on my glasses, face and places I dare not to mention in this review (TV-MA). Tasty and fun to eat! We actually had a good time eating and enjoying each others company! Listening to some smooth R&B music that soothed the soul! It was amazing! Seleena checked on us regularly to make sure we didn't go into "over-eating over-drive and pass out in the garbage bucket!" It was a good time. So much food, I could not even finish. So much fun and entertainment! AMAZING TIME!
Seleena brung us some to-go boxes, check, and welcomed us back. WE WILL!
Please give this place a visit, I highly recommended it, and a BIG SHOUT-OUT to the friendly staff and our server Seleena (hope I spelled her name right)! THESE GUYS AND GALS WERE...
Read moreHorrible! My sister and I visited the twisted crab restaurant between 5-6pm. We ordered one bag of seafood to split between the two of us. After tasting the food, my sister stated that food did not taste well (particularly the crabs which had a bad after taste) and it took at least 3-5 minutes to hunt down a waiter. When the waiter did finally come, she stated she would bring us a "fresh bag" of seafood and she removed our original bag from the table. 5 minutes later she comes back with "a new bag". We opened it, only to discover it was the same bag we original had with even less food than before. I had 2-3 pieces from the original bag and one leg from the crab, while my sister only had one crab leg from the bag. Again, it took another 3-5 minutes to get a waitress. Eventually I went to get the manager, who could just barely communicate in English with me. He made no effort to fix the issue. We got frustrated & told him we were leaving and not coming back to the restaurant for service again to which he replied "okay, thank you". We get up to leave and exit the restaurant and two waitresses run us down screaming that we did not pay for our food. The waitress Kendra is yelling and swearing, behaving like a wild animal and being loud. Horrible waitress, unprofessional, and rude! I asked if she spoke with the manager and she said yes, but that all he told her was that we did not pay, which was not the issue, and that he told her to hunt us down. The entire time we are going back and forth with the waiter, after already having discussed this with the manager already. After at least ten minutes of arguing the manager comes out, simply apologizes, and then goes back inside with the other two waitresses. My sister and I had only 5 pieces out of the entire meal together which tasted bad! What exactly were we paying for? I have never been so embarrassed in my life, nor have I ever been so angry leaving a restaurant. The staff was unprofessional, the Manager had no idea what he was doing, and had no idea how to handle customer conflict. I later found out the two waiter's names (Kendra and Shai), along with the assistant manager that night (Max). At no point at all were we able to get in contact with the actual manager or...
Read moreWent in with my freind. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. We asked if it was happy hour and was told yes. Our order was taken 2 shrimp baskets, 2 orders of eggs, noodles and 2 strawberry lemon drops. 15 mins later we got lemon drops with nothing on rim. The table behind us was empty when we were seated . But they managed to get their food before us. Another waitress came and asked us were we ok. I said NO I was hungry and why did they get thier food before us. She said that our waiter had two parties and that’s why. She went to see where our food was and came back to satires ready and waiting to come to us. About 7 mins later our food arrived. I moved the meat to see what was on my basket it was crab cakes! I told waiter that it was wrong order. He advised to keep and he would get the correct order. Next here comes who I found out later to be Lashonda (manager)she goes who got the wrong order said me and she said I’ll take that. I said was eating it before he said could have it. She said no I need it back and will thrown away. Then that she will have him add to check. I also asked where were our condiments and forks she said we have to ask for them as they are being wasted. I advised that it should be told as such or on menu that the customer has to ask for them. I then at that time advised that I would not be eating or drinking anything and I felt disrespected!! She was so condescending and unprofessional 🤬. My bestie then ask for check and discovers that lemon drops are not the $5 as she had during happy hour 2 weeks ago. They are now $9. Lashonda said that they change the $5 drinks weekly and this week was margaritas for $5. Smh 🤦🏾♀️ 2weeks previously we had the best experience. I was so disappointed and hungry. I left there and went to Pier 88 where the service was as it should be...
