I will start with the MINIMAL positives of my room was clean and the location was convenient for the event I was in town for. The other components to my stay though, very bad.
I'm not sure the name of the man at the desk, but upon arrival I gave my information to check in. I did a pre pay online through BW website and he asked me for a card. I know some places ask for a card to put on file just in case of damage and such, so I went to put a card on file. As I went to insert my card, I noticed it was going to be charging me about $160. I asked the man what this was for and he explained for my room. I told him I had already paid back when I reserved my room online in February.
This led to us talking in circles for entirely too long. I got to the hotel at 6:30pm and the event I was in town for started at 8. I didn't not finish my checkout until 7:50- that's ridiculous. He called corporate at one point to look into the situation even though I was showing him my confirmation receipt from when I booked that literally says "owed up on arrival: $0.00"
Jumping ahead here, we were both on the phone with corporate for about an hour. They were telling him and me that I already paid and should be all set and he refused to honor this and refused to refund me (my reservation was non refundable which I knew when booking) and refused to give me a hotel key until I paid AGAIN for the room. I'm still investigating this with corporate and this location, but just know they don't honor pre paid and will make you pay again.
To add to this, the man behind the counter had a slick smirk on his face while dealing with this entire situation. When I finally caved and paid again just so I could get my stuff into a room and be on my way, I told him to refund one of the cards immediately because there's no reason to pay for 1 room for 1 night twice. He told me they would refund my original payment method which just further proves he saw I paid previously.
Corporate and myself were floored that this guy wouldn't honor my previous payment for the room. I've stayed in BW in many states and cities over my life and have never had this issue before. I will sleep in my car in a sketchy area before I ever give this location money...
Read moreHonestly the Hotel served the all of for my weekend needs at an affordable rate while I was attending a family reunion and celebrating my mother’s birthday weekend.from check in on Friday until ch checkout on Monday. Firstly I only had a few small issue sI had was how hot the lobby was when we arrived to the hotel for Check in. I think that it was because of the large unfiltered widows in the lobby and the position of the Sun; (also I’m not sure if the A/C was working or if it was just competing with the sun’s rays. If I were to suggest maybe looking into some type of film to help shield the Sun in order to keep the lobby cool as possible b/c that is also where the breakfast area is located. My other issue was just limited to my room (#106). The television kept freezing on us the first night it worked for about an hour but then from 7:30pm past 12am only a few local channels and a large majority of the cable of the movie channels either glitched or either frozen for the rest of the night (and there was not any storms happening at the). Also briefly it was also strange that when the tv was working for me I called my Mom in room #508 and told her about a movie we were watching on HBO; (when was trying to find the same station we were watching her room television didn’t have that channel at all we had 5 HBO channels and my mom’s room only had 3). The only other issue for me was the toilet and toilet seat in our room was really loose. After informing Kumar the hotel manager these matters were attended to. He was very attentive. So a Big kudos to Kumar and all of the Housekeeping and maintenance staff they were very courteous and professional. The rooms are spacious and have a nice lil’ flare to them; nice and cozy for a short stay. Breakfast was fair I was pleased by their coffee/cappuccino maker that was a wonderful addition. As well as their juice machines. The onsite gym was good it just didn’t have any fresh towels and equipment wipe down; wipes were dry. I didn’t get a chance yo enjoy the pool; however, it was definitely a big hit with all of the other guest that were there. Overall I would definitely stay here again. Kumar and the staff really do a great job at making sure their guest have...
Read moreOk so the hotel was ok. I stayed here for 4 nights and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. When I got up to my room everything was in order but the bathroom. The bathroom was at best, gross. There was mold growing on the ceiling above the shower, literally! Mold! The backsplash above the sink looked as if it had never been scrubbed in its lifetime. The bed was comfortable. The second night of my stay there was a party next door to me. They were loud. They were rude. The gal from the front desk knocked on my door to ask me if I knew which room the noise was coming from. I told her which and she said there had been several noise complaints (I would have called myself but I was honestly afraid of retaliation; these weren't nice looking people) I heard the clerk knock and talk to the party goers. Probably 30 minutes later I heard what sounded like a gun shot!!! I left my room scared to death and of course when I returned my room smelled like marijuana! They were smoking next door and it was seeping through the walls. I called the front desk and he said he would call the police. Gues who never called the police? That's rignt, an hour after my complaint I smelled the pot again. A bad night is an understatement. The 4th night the entire 2nd floor was rented out to a group of middle schoolers on a field trip who had apparently reserved the entire floor, no one was supposed to be on it, according to one of the chaperones. Said chaperone wanted me to pack all my stuff up and find a different room, she said she was going to the desk for me. I had to leave for work very early in the morning and it was around 7 when they all got into their rooms, I didnt want to pack, unpack, then pack again just for their convenience. I started regretting not moving around midnight when the teenage girls in the room next to me were still giggling and playing loud music at midnight. The best western got a lot of my money for such a bad experience for me. I absolutely won't be back, they dont know how to treat their guests and make sure everyone has a pleasant...
