Got a yearning in your belly for authentic Cajun seafood? I have the right place for you, Got Fish Seafood in Hampton, Virginia. The restaurant is located right off of I-64 located in the Hampton Town Center. I truly wasn’t expecting to walk in and find a beautifully designed modern masculine contemporary restaurant. Handcrafted oak counters, tables, and booths, accented with red, black, and white decor. A path led us around to the state of the art menu wall and a merch section that had cost-friendly items that will let everyone know why your smiling. Breathing in all I could smell was the cleanliness and fresh food. This restaurant has risen the bar on cleanliness and eye appeal, I then wondered if the food would be as comparable.

Having visited the website gotfishseafood.com my plan was to order what was on the website. Standing there looking at the beautiful dishes on the menu wall, I got lost in a sea of variety. My tummy took over my prior selections and chose the Seafood Trio and a side order of Crab Cakes. What a wonder did my belly find? The aroma forced me to speed home! Or that was the excuse that I had planned on telling the trooper if I was pulled over. LoL

Once home I could not wait to dive into the food like a child on Christmas morning. To see the care that was taken when placing the food in the cartons made me smile. It was unbelievable at how it was prepared and boxed just like the pictures on the website. Unable to wait any longer I broke off a piece of fish. It was excellently cooked to flakey perfection, coated in a Cajun batter and fried golden brown. The flavor was AWESOME!!! Next, the crab cake was calling my name. I could not resist taking a piece of Cory’s crab cake. LoL, I saved mine for the salad I made the next day. Yes, it was just as fresh and delicious. The crab cake was mostly meat with little to no filler. The flavor was all natural with a subtle hint of cajun. If you like hot sauce on your food you will be in heaven with this crab cake. But be ready to slap your grandmother because you're gonna think she gave them the recipe.

Ok, I have to tell you about the Crabby fries. Yeah, I thought this was going to be something from SpongeBob Squarepants too! Far from it! Imagine waffle fries smothered by crab meat in a special sauce. And trust me when I tell you they did not skimp on the crab meat in the sauce.

I almost hate to mention it, I know it is going to be a best seller!! The pound cake is to die for!!!

This was my first time trying Got Fish? and quite frankly, it lived up to every hype I've heard. I ordered take out and was scheduled for a pick-up time of 7:35pm - and for the record, it was ready on time. I arrived early and it wasn't ready (no big deal at all), so I sat in the dining room to wait. I looked around and it was honestly the CLEANEST restaurant I've seen in a LONG time - pre/post COVID life and all. Not to mention whoever curated the restaurant playlist did a fine job... Even though my friend and I ordered to-go, the food was absolutely awesome by the time I was able to get home and enjoy it. We ordered the Fish & Grits, along with the Shrimp Po-Boy with Crabby Fries. I was SO pleasantly surprised to notice they packaged the Crabby topping for the fries on the side so they didn't get soggy (which I cannot tell you how much I apprecaite), along with they included plenty of napkins, cutlery, and anything else I almost forgot I needed. I had the pleasure of speaking with (I presume the manager) Ms. Trina, and she is a true epitome of hospitality. One thing I will say is that the food is more expensive than your average ($38 for two people) "fast-casual dining" place, but it is well worth every penny as an occasional treat. My friend did mention bones in his fish as well (like some others have), but c'mon, what can you expect? It's a fish. Also, I personally could have gone for more of whatever sauce was drizzled on top of my shrimp, but now I know to ask for a bit extra.

To be clear, this is the best food in the 757 area! The service is IMPECCABLE. Soon as you walk in you feel like family, like you are family. There was a error in my meal, it was missing the lobster tail( lobster tail at Market price ) and it was at a time when they are very busy . This establishment went over and beyond to rectify the situation. No additional drama or questions (come on, lobster is expensive ) they just rectified the issue . They really took it personal that my order was wrong . A small gesture that went a long way with me. This place is always busy . ALWAYS. But you would never really know in and out every trip. Even then they were operating out of a food truck. Now to the food. ADDICTIVE . This is my favorite cheat meal and it's always worth it. Seasoned well . I've been a customer since they were operating with their food truck and it's like the food get better and better . The sky is the limit for this business . Once they expand its over!! It will be a take over . IF YOU ARE CRAVING OR IN THE MOOD FOR SEAFOOD, DONT CHEAT YOURSELF COME HERE!
