Valle Vista Mall — Attraction in Harlingen

This mall is a joke. While the malls in both Brownsville and McAllen are thriving, this mall is on life support and is about to die at any moment. Same can be said for this city as well, but that's a completely different topic. There are more empty stores than filled stores. An entire section of the mall that led to where Sears used to be is completely closed off. Communication with mall management is almost nonexistent. If i try to call the number on Google i get a "this number is no longer in service" message. I even tried calling the number i was given on a business card and couldn't get it to ring. If i walk into the office to ask for assistance i can only talk to security guard and if i ask to speak to someone in charge they tell me they don't get into the office till after 12 p.m. Bathrooms are abysmal. One bathroom never has soap and stinks all the time while the other one has broken sinks so literally everyone is walking around with dirty hands afterwards. During the summertime the mall gets warm because they don't always turn on the AC when it's hot. If you're a vendor for their market days or you work at the mall you'll be walking to your car at the end of the day to a pitch-black parking lot because they can't even afford to turn on the lights in the parking lot. And speaking of parking lot you can hardly see the stripes on the parking lot so people are always parking wrong. Not to mention they have no security cameras in the parking lot and no longer have a security car driving around the parking lot, even during the Christmas holiday when security is needed most.

This mall does absolutely NOTHING to attract new business to it and honestly it all starts with ownership and management and clearly neither of them care enough to do anything to make things better. In all honesty the best thing that could happen to this mall is that someone buys it and knocks the whole thing down and builds a new mall in its place. If i could give this place a zero out of five stars i would because even one star is being too generous for this worthless mall. The mall is literally the heart of Harlingen and it being an empty husk on display for all the people who pass by our city seeing it along the highway is extremely embarrassing. The owners and management have no shame and take no pride in anything they do.

Oh and i forgot to mention that there are times you can't even get into the mall because they forget to pay their light...

Horrible experience! I bought my husband a St Michael painting for his birthday at the beginning of January. it was supposed to be ready for pickup mid January but when I took it home it was the wrong painting. they told me there was a mistake and they would place a new order which would arrive at the beginning of Feb. I returned at the beginning of Feb and aside from the horrible and rude customer service the manager provided they offered no other solution aside from talking to the owner directly and waiting longer or refunding the money which would take time because they claimed they didn't have enough money in their box. I took the option of talking to the owner as I had already invested $300 in this gift which my husband has been waiting for a month after his Birthday. it is now Feb 19 and I'm still being given endless amounts of excuses as to why they don't have a product that I paid for and should have been provided over a month ago. I will be picking up my money today (hopefully they will have that) and will continue waiting for the owner to make things right. I will update this review if he somehow makes...

Going to address an incident that happened during a recent visit my spouse and I had. My family and I grew up in the area so we wanted to visit the mall today. Seeing quite a few business closed while feeling so much nostalgia made us want to take a few photos of places we used to visit. After a few minutes a member of what we assume to be mall security (he was not wearing any kind of uniform) approached us rather hostiley saying "you can't record here, all malls won't let you record you need to delete it or leave" then him and another assumed security personal followed us out of the building like some kind of criminals.

If the situation has been handled more politely we mightve stayed and shopped however instead we will be posting google reviews and making a report with the better...
