Boy where do I even start. Bring a fairly well known figure in the motorcycle industry and social media world, I honestly thought I might get a little more welcoming experience. Soon as I walked in, the taller gentleman with the beard darted straight to the back. I didn't make much of it at the time, as I simply assumed that there would be other sales associates on the floor. Could not for the life of me find a single associate. Being that I was in a rush and had a long drive home since I don't live around here, I went to the back door and simply called the gentleman over. As he walks out, he States to me, "what's wrong with you people". At this point it clicked in my head, I was dealing with a simple minded ignorant man who didn't not have the slightest clue as to who I was. I hate to state the obvious here, but I am a black man. I immediately let the man named "Jeremy" know that what he stated to me was an entirely rude, offensive and racist statement. It was at this point that he pulled a banana out of his back pocket and offered it to me and told me, "stop playing the black card, I'm sick of it". I was so disgusted, but I was in need of the dainese d1 jacket. I grabbed my right size and went to Jeremy with the jacket and a link for the jacket at a lesser price. Immediately without even hesitation or looking at my phone he States "no thats a fake website" and he rings me up. I've never been treated so poorly my whole life. I will definitely not be visiting any cycle gear in the future if they plan on continuing having racist deplorable work there. Read moreThe Hasbrouck Heights location always makes it happen! I frequent this location from time to time for tire installs and misc parts for my bikes and my son’s MX bikes. Was there yesterday for a tire and was immediately accommodated and the employee (forgot his name) got me done while waited. Thank you!
Update. Needed another set of tires done, Jeremy and Marc made it happen despite being shorthanded. BIG thanks to Jeremy for getting me done as fast as he did. No place better than this location and the team there really looks out for their customers. Thanks guys!
8-7-25 Another update. I have been a customer here for years and today was not a good visit. I purchased a gift card at the White Plains location for my sons birthday. When my wife and son tried to use the card today in Hasbrouck Heights they were told there as no $ on it and that because it was sold at another location there was nothing that could be done. My wife ended up purchasing the pants, goggles, and t shirt anyway and left. It took me all of 5 minutes to call Cycle Gear customer service to correct the problem. This most certainly should have been done by you guys. The customer rep even told me that this should have been corrected at the store. Why make the customer deal with a mistake made by Cycle Gear? Read moreI’d give it 0 stars if I could. Very disappointed in the customer service. All this company cares about is selling their products and that’s about it. I purchased a AGV K3 helmet less than 1 year ago. This was my first time buying a helmet. So I made sure to go in store to make sure I brought the right size since I’m new to all this. I brought a large. The associate at the store assured me that I brought the correct size. After going on my first high way ride I feel the helmet shaking and pulling off my head. Of course it’s after 90 days, because it took a while until I was comfortable enough to go on the highway. So I took it to cycle gear to at least have the shell exchanged since it was fully the associates fault for telling me the wrong size. What’s the point of saying free measurements if you’ll just recommend the incorrect sizing. Anyways so I took the trip to cycle gear- Hasbrouck heights, to see how I can be helped and the sales associate there tells me to buy a new helmet as if the brand isn’t expensive enough and refused to help me in anyway.
