Thanks to the Montage Kapalua and Yelp, my friend and I got to experience the infamous Cliff House! ATMOSPHERE: Perched on a low, rocky cliff off the Montage Kapalua's property, the intimate glass-walled "house" overlooks the Pacific with the island of Molokai as its backdrop. Inside is a small bar, communal table and low tops, with high tops lining the outdoor balcony. Restrooms are located on the first level of the House. THE CLIFF HOUSE: Originally built in 1940 for the managers of the now defunct Honolua Plantation, it was recently renovated and is now operated by the Montage Kapalua, though used only for private events. VEUVE CLICQUOT EVENT: In December 2017, a few of us Elite Yelpers were invited to an event that was actually open to the general public. The House was gussied up in French company Veuve Clicquot's signature orange-yellow colors via logo banners and table umbrellas. The pricey menu featured Champagne & cocktails by the glass (starting at $23) or by the bottle (starting at $138). Small bites available were oysters, tuna tartar, pavlova, crudo and burrata, starting at $22. We were served specifically the Rich Cocktail drink in which I chose the pear flavor that was very refreshing, followed by a glass of their Yellow Label. We sampled all of the small bites except for the oysters, and all were absolutely delicious! We ended with a meringue dessert that wasn't on the menu. SERVICE: The outstanding service started even before we got to the Cliff House as we were greeted by Katherine (I believe was her name) at the valet area as we exited our car. She walked us to the lobby and explained how to get down to the event and even popped in during the event to make sure everything was going okay. The servers at the Cliff House were friendly, professional and attentive. I'm sure that tending to a table of Yelpers might seem challenging but we're all cool peeps! OVERALL: The perfect place for an exclusive event of 40 guests or less.

The rocks just north of house are a favorite of my kids to jump off of. It is very deep and safe for jumps. You can work your way up from small jumps to some really big ones close to 40 feet. There is a ladder on one side and a rope on the other to help you get out of the water. I'd recommend water shoes to help you when climbing around on the rocks. It's fun to watch the locals do breathtaking flips off these rocks. A great spot for fun in the sun.

Such a beautiful spot! It’s an awesome place for snorkeling, the water is usually super glassy and clear. There are several rock jumping points where you can do some tricks. Just a short walk away is Cliff House Beach, which can get a bit crowded with tourists, but it’s still a lovely spot that feels like a natural swimming pool. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This is for the cliff jumping part. If you are here to cliff jump, the google map spot is incorrect and is for taking photos. Go right at the fork and there is a trail towards north of the coast. Google map also showing it as the "rock jump spot", and that is the correct spot for cliff jumping. When you get there, work from the left side then gradually to the right, as the left side have lower gentle jumps and it gets higher as you work towards the right. Make sure you jump as outward as possible, and always scout out where to climb up before you jump. The jumps were awesome and you won't regret it. There is also a lifeguard on duty until 6pm, you can ask him for...
