The manager Viola, needs a class on customer service. Very rude, unprofessional and very adamant that she is always right. She asked us to leave the hotel without checking with the her own staff where the issue was. We left room at 9 am and told cleaning crew that they can clean our room, we came back at 2pm nothing was done and we had a wedding to go to and we needed the room for dressing up. I called Viola, she said NO you did not tell our staff to clean, and then she said they go home at 4 pm so I need to leave room now so they can clean. Then she came back and told us we had put the DND sign on our door, thats why it was not serviced. Well one of the staff came in our room only to find out that, there was no DND signage in our room at all. But in between Viola told me to leave the hotel and that she is the supervisor and the buck stops with her. I went to see her and she folded her arms and very angrily told me, she does not have to listen to me. Then she calls her cleaning staff supervisor and was told in her face that they just did not clean the room and there was no DND sign. When I told her stop lying, she became so angry and slammed the sliding window on our faces. OWNER of hotel, you have hired a wrong person to take care of your hotel. Total disappointment!!! When in customer service field, even if the customer is wrong, you cannot be rude and folding hands while talking to customer. Also fact check first before you accuse anyone. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE. Also do you know the staff is asked not to fix beds or sweep floors even if there is sand on the floor (previous cleaning was not spot on, left sand in many places.) Also if you are on the bottom floor, guaranteed the guest upstairs is going to disturb your sleep, walls are so thin you can hear the footsteps, moving of furniture early in the morning when you are trying to rest. Read moreIt is a cute property and right on the beach. That said, the beach gets very crowded because it is not private. The partial ocean view was off the balcony, but that was fine. Hearing the waves lap back and forth was very soothing. The grounds are very well maintained, but the units themselves are outdated and somewhat shabby. While the bathroom had been remodeled, the living area needed an upgrade with new carpet and furniture. Evidence of the recent fresh coat of paint was left as excess paint streaks on glass, etc and was not performed very well. What was nice was the memory foam bed. Cupboard handles were sticky and I found a cockroach on the kitchen floor the last night there. The refrigerator door had dents in it. That said, it's a full kitchen with sink, blender, coffee maker, toaster, and plates and utensils. There are no televisions in the rooms, and given the paper thin walls (you can hear a lot going on next door and above and below), I understand why. They need to replace all their incandescent light bulbs with leds and use the same color temp. My unit was very multi-colored at night. The pool was refreshing, but not warm. There are lots of local cats on the property, which if you are a cat person like me, is wonderful. Some exotic birds fly by and visit too. The "free breakfasts" that consist of coffee, hard boiled eggs, fruit and sweet rolls could be expanded to include eggs and meat. This place is pricey and you're paying for the views and the proximity to the beach. Parking is limited, but you are provided a permit. There are a couple of local restaurants within a 5 min walk, which is convenient. Since I arrived after hours, the friendly security guard checked me in and walked me to my building. Overall, a good visit, but I probably won't be staying here...
Read moreI have been coming to Maui at lest twice a year for over 20 years. I have stayed exclusively in Napili bay because it is such a lovely location and my favorite area on the island. I have stayed in most of the resorts on the bay but there have been changes at some of my previous “go to” resorts which inspired me to keep seeking better facilities. |Now I have found my new all time favorite resort. The Mauian! This is by far the most beautifully landscaped resort in all of Napili. The beautiful ambience of the lush landscaping has been a huge contributing factor in creating a relaxing atmosphere.|The ocean is very accessible with a short beach before the water edge. I appreciate the amenities available another few steps from my room in the lounge with daily coffee and juice, books, a tv, and computer with printer.|Our kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and pots and pans for cooking but so far we have been too relaxed to cook and we simply go next door to the Sea House Restaurant to have our meals. |I have been enjoying the pool daily and always bring my favorite floats to Maui as the ocean scares me a bit.|I must add while some places I use to stay at have eliminated most of their staff, the Mauian has a very large staff of gardeners and cleaners keeping the rooms and grounds absolutely spotless and beautiful. All the staff have been so kind from our first introduction to Don who we adore to our cleaning lady Leila who cleans our room daily. I am glad we booked a long trip this time and I am thrilled that I know where we will be staying on all future trips to Maui. I cannot recommend this resort high enough and this is an educated recommendation from someone who has stayed at most of the...
