First time visiting this location! Very nice and clean regardless how old it may look from the outside building. They keep this library very well and I love it instantly! Definitely a great place to study or read some books as well as using your computer or laptop! Will definitely be back here again! :) Come for those who wanna quiet place for study! AC is working great as well! Keep up the great work to this library! Cheers 🥂

Lovely small library in the community! Great for a quick reading or internet access! Very quiet environment and everyone is respecting to each other for noise level! Many seniors are visiting so probably that is the reason why it’s nice and quiet! Love it

It took me an hour and 36 minutes to get to this library because I take the bus and it was worth it! I explained my situation to the librarian; i had created a Libby account AND HCPL online account but I wanted a physical card. She explained that it's separate accounts and I could merge them but i wouldn't have access to the accounts for a few hours or leave as is. Ultimately, we decided to mete them and was surprised to know that I already HAD a HCPL card. I explained that igot one when I worked as a nanny in a specific neighborhood but when that employment ended, my employer demanded the card back. The librarian explained that it was mine to keep and it should not have been given back, in fact there was a book checked out on it and had not been returned! We matched the dates and it was definitely not a book I had checked out myself. She corrected this and removed that card, merged my libby and hcpl accounts and while i was browsing, confirmed it was done and ready to use! I am amazed!!!!

On top of that amazing help, they have cooking classes (you have to register) and computer literacy classes!!! And so much more. She gave me a pamphlet with different services and apps available to use (from video streaming to newspaper and magazine). The place is brightly lit, spacious, and well-stocked. I'm really happy I came here and will...

Visiting this library was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that permeates the space. The library itself is truly amazing, with its vast collection of books spanning every genre imaginable. Whether you're a bookworm or a casual reader, there's something here for everyone.

What truly sets this library apart is its friendly staff. The librarians are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly approachable. They're always ready to offer assistance, whether it's helping you find a specific book or recommending your next great read. Their passion for literature and dedication to customer service truly shines through.

But the greatness doesn't stop there! This library is a hive of activity, with plenty of events happening throughout the month. From book clubs and author talks to workshops and exhibitions, there's always something exciting going on. These events not only foster a sense of community but also provide endless opportunities for learning and discovery.

Overall, this library is a gem in the heart of the city. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to read, seeking assistance from friendly staff, or hoping to attend a stimulating event, this library has it all. I can't recommend it enough!

Still a great library with a lot of community events....

30-year patron of this branch.

Spoke with this location’s Branch Manager today about an item. This individual was apparently short & curt in the interaction, while they sat on their chair, providing answers left/right at my basic questions.

While I appreciate the individual’s knowledge, I think there may be room for professionalism & communication improvements. 👀

For example, how to convey one’s high-level of knowledge (in any position) to a patron asking a basic question?

It was almost as if I were being argued with because I didn’t understand & was asking for clarification?

Another library staff member (under their supervision obviously, since orgs are supposed to be a team?) said they rectified my concern before Branch Manager.

However, when I approached Branch Manager for something else, they loudly said something along the lines of, “Not sure about whatever anyone has done on this”, as if they were complaining/airing dirty laundry in front of a patron.

Additionally, other, VERY seasoned library staff, whom I see & know since I visited this branch as a toddler (!!!), noticed the “Branch Manager’s” interaction.

I totally get anyone may have a bad day or moment. I’d like to request: please refrain from misdirecting issues or being rude to library patrons!

I don’t think anyone needs any of...
