Defenders Armory Indoor Range — Attraction in Hempfield Township

This was my first of what I intend to be many experiences at Defenders Armory. This isn't your average, unapproachable, esoteric arms dealer. I was looking for a Zev OZ9C Hyper Comp and already called about a half dozen dealers in SW Pa- all to no avail. I stumbled upon DA and gave them a call and to my surprise, they happened to have one. When I arrived in the store it was immediately clear this wasn't a dealer we've all come familiar - and dread - walking into. This shop, by all accounts, is a boutique dealer. You're not going to see a Rock River Arms 1911 or 200 Ruger LCPs jammed in the displays. What you will find, are refined tastes of the American Armorer. The cabinets are lined with hard to find, coveted firearms that aren't just classy, but functional. Nighthawks, SAs, Daniel Defense, and yes, the bougie Zev, are just a glimpse of what awaits you.

As an SOT dealer, they have plenty of armament to keep you coming back. Suppressors, SBRs, and all the NFA restricted items your inner marksman could desire lie await.

However, this isn't even the best part of the store. The guns, as great as they are, aren't what makes Defenders Armory truly special- it was the customer service. As I mentioned, this is a boutique dealer. And with that came boutique customer service. Dave never ONCE tried to push me towards something I didn't want. While I knew what I was decided on when I walked in the door, Chris somehow managed to match my enthusiasm as if it was also the first time he had been there. Great conversations and discussions about not just firearms, but also our lives. This truly felt like I was being seated in the back kitchen of a 5 star restaurant to have the chef cook me something not on the menu.

If I had to give only one reason to visit this store over your local or current preferred dealer, it was the staff hands down.

This place is awesome! First time gun buyer and boy did these people make me feel comfortable! Dave was the person that took care of me and he gave me great advice as to, What’s the best gun to purchase that goes with my hand size lol. I felt like a real amateur but he put me in a comfortable place. So much that I was able to buy my gun. I feel good about it, and I was comfortable with my choice! Because I knew for sure it was a gun I can handle! Thanks to him! If your a first timer with buying a gun this is the place I recommend for you. Friendly knowledgeable workers in there. Almost all the people working in there are either ex military or police or ex police so you are guaranteed in good hands! I’m deff going back there again. It was a fun first time experience, for my second purchase I’m going bigger 😊 highly recommended and ask for Dave he is for sure a gun expert and has great advice for both men and woman. Before me he helped a woman buy a gun too and made it easy for her to feel comfortable and purchase her gun and she did! Thanks a lot Dave can’t wait to see...

Stopped in today to purchase two guns. Told the gentleman what I was looking for. He asked me why, why, why... I explained this was my preference-proceeded to tell me how that's not the right gun for a woman/my wife and she's not going to be able to fire that gun properly. Distracted by his toddler, he didn't seem to pay much attention to my concerns, he asked me questions we already discussed. That being said, they're guns are much more expensive than the three other gun shops that I visited today! Needless to say, between the poor customer service and over priced guns ,(the three other ships were within $20 of each other, this place was over $100 more)-Extremely disappointing! NO, I won't be...
