One of the last clean, safe and enjoyable malls in SW Pennsylvania.
Westmoreland Mall years ago was one of many enclosed malls in in the SW Pa area. But the downturn in the economy since 2008 took it's toll on the areas shopping malls. Most have turned into cavernous, empty hulks of their prior over the top decadent shrines of capitalism. If my kids were younger, I wouldn't allow them to go to most malls today past dark.
Not so with Westmoreland Mall ! This beautiful mall is even surrounded by a thriving strip mall that includes everything one can imagine. Westmoreland mall has plenty of outside and inside free parking and is located on Rt 30 east just before the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. It has somehow thrived when the others have failed and deteriorated. It is anchored by Sears, and J.C. Penney's and has many specialty shops to please all tastes. The management team keeps the mall clean at all times and security is omnipresent. It is a fun and safe place to bring your family especially during the holiday season.
Stop by when you are in the area, I think Westmoreland Mall will bring back a lot of memories of how shopping was a pleasure instead of a...
ย ย ย Read moreGreat place to go shop or hang out with friends, or even get a bite to eat! There always seems to be something interesting going on, and most stores have sales going on at all times. There is a store for everyone and anyone here! Honestly, my only complaint is the kiosk vendors they have on the bottom floor, specifically the ones right outside Victoria's Secret; they're nearly impossible to get away from, and they're downright pestering at points. As a young woman, I've been walked up to more than a handful of times while my brother hasn't been approached once. They've approached me immediately after I left Victoria's secret on a few occasions. They don't take "no" for an answer, and there have been multiple occasions I've gone to the second floor so they'd leave me alone. I understand they're trying to sell a product, but their methods are, essentially, harassment. I really wish the mall would do something about this so customers, specifically women, can walk to different shops, or even OUT of shops such as my case, and thoroughly enjoy their visit without the fear of being attacked by vendors selling overpriced hair and...
ย ย ย Read moreI don't know why nobody likes to visit malls anymore. I personally don't like to order clothes online as I like to try, combine, and buy knowing it fits the first time. Same with shoes. Westmoreland Mall has a variety of stores for my shopping pleasure under one roof, out of the heat, cold or rain. You can always find a sale at one of the numerous shops. It is also clean and they do a nice job hosting Santa and the Easter Bunny. I also feel it's safe for my family and me to be there. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is for 2 things.
