The park is quite big. Playgrounds are all over. Nice multi-level landscaping and walkways. Ball fields and courts. Dog park; albeit with inconvenient parking, but still; dog park. Tons of room but the parking lots are in weird places and there's no connecting road throughout the park. "You Are Here" maps placed in all the parking lots, so it's easy to find your way around if you know where you're going. Pet-friendly. Huge fenced-in BMX park. "Mini" disc golf course sat right alongside it. I say "mini" because it is NOT a good disc golf course, in general. If you're an avid thrower, avoid this course. Rule 1 on the list next to the layout board is "No long throws". After you see the distance and the right-in-the-middle-of-everything placement of the throw lines, you'll see why. Go to Sunset or Mt. Crest. Holes are par 3. Relay-style course to fit in a small area but truly not well placed or thought out. Would be cool for a 9-hole putter's-only round or for beginners. Seemed like a cool place aside from that. Weird layout, over all. 3 1/2 out 5...
Read moreNear the park, I drove thru the other day just to find some shade for my car as it had an abundance of them. Oh, it was 115° and although most of the good spots were taken by people eating, sleeping, or just hanging out for the next job to come in (rideshare drivers) I was still able to find a place facing the wrong direction. The park is fairly well kept up by the City of Henderson, offering walking paths, 3 baseball fields (or is it 4), disc golf, 2 playgrounds, BMX park, 2 pet yards with 1 training yard, covered picnic tables and a couple of bbqs, 1 restroom for the whole park, 15' wide metal framed bridge with wood pathway stretching over Pittman Wash, drinking fountains in several locations (some only work seasonally), disabled parking, with easy access to sidewalks, pathways, and restroom. Did I mention they only have 1 restroom. If the baseball gate on the north side of the park is open theirs a restroom inside but if not, you have to drive to the southside if you are disabled or can't...
Read moreThe City had a great idea with building a bike park but dropped the ball big time buy not taking advantage of all the bmxers that wanted to get involved to help build it right. It was built very poorly and is very dangerous. They finally have a great local pro trying to fix it up he did a great Job rebuilding one set of jumps but once again the maintenance crew has dropped the ball and won't look after them during the week by watering them at least a couple time's a day or patching the spots that get wrecked they won't even get near them. It's sad because Henderson / las vegas has a very huge bmx & mountain bike community and can really use a good bike park. But a lot of us go to other state's like Utah to snake hollow or California to...
