I recently visited Quiltique on a trip to Las Vegas. I bought a bunch of fabric and unfortunately did not purchase fabric from another fabric collection I saw that I adored because I was concerned about insufficient room in my luggage for all my purchases. Silly me. I thought I correctly noted the name of the fabric collection before I left the shop so that I could order it online.
Fast forward s few days...I am going to order some of that beautiful fabric: I searched by name for what I think the fabric collection is called (both on the internet and Quiltique's site) - nope. I searched by color, design, etc. for how I remember the fabric collection looking (both on the internet and Quiltique's site) - nope. -I searched through all of the fabric on Quiltique's site...page by page. Nope.
Sigh - I'll just call over there and ask them. The employee who answered the phone did her best to help me out based on what I recall and where I thought I saw the fabric. We couldn't find a match. Several minutes later - Kara (one of the owners) called me back and spent 20 minutes with me on the phone trying to figure out what collection I "need" based on my descriptions. She literally walked me through the aisles in the store over the phone describing to me what fabric she was looking at. If something sounded like a possible fit, she provided me with the fabric collection name and I looked it up online to verify. No luck.
But wait, Kara is not giving up. She understands this situation. She has been sending me photos of different parts of the store to see if I can locate the fabric collection in the photo - you know just in case we don't have the same understanding of my descriptions.
We haven't found it yet but I simply am BLOWN away by how far above and beyond...
Read moreThe back to school carnival .After they opened the door so people could start going in we were met by two women handing out punch cards to everyone. Three people in front of us, a man and two women were all given a card. When my wife and I entered, we were each handed a card and started to walk away when the other woman stopped the man in front of me and took his card. Then she looked at me and asked if the wife and I were together. I said yes and she said there was only one card per household and took my card (later I saw the same man with a card) at different times. For the next hour or so, there were several couples with each having cards and parents with young children with punch cards, My wife had planned on signing up for three or four classes and purchase a $250.00 quilt kit along with the classes but after this happened, she didn't feel like returning. She had been excited to take classes but it changed her feelings to wondering if she would even be welcome. On several occasions I have purchased several yards of material, patterns and other sewing notions for her as well as helping with some of the sewing. I feel like we were being singled out with no idea why .The carnival flyer said absolutely nothing about only one card per household, then seeing several others with cards, this seems like a form of discrimination. If this is the way quiltique wants to do business ,our dollars which is several hundred at a time will be spent elsewhere. We also had friends there and the husband had a card and was allowed to participate in the games. My wife has spent a lot of money there in the past and had a class before. I will never never go back and will let everyone in our sewing groups know of your...
Read moreThe first time i went it was magical in every way possible! I had been making tons and tons of masks and when I walked into Quiltique I felt as if I had motivation and excitement in my worrisome life once again. Walking up and down every section/isle thoroughly looking at every pattern made it possible to appeal to EVERY walk of life! (mask design wise haha) they had patterns for every man woman and child of every taste and interest.
As i was sewing masks and giving them away to all who needed/wanted them, many people have asked for specific patterns to the point where each batch had repeats from the last because they were so popular and gorgeous. I personally ADORE and dare I say hoard the spooky Halloween patterns!!
Back to the point, I would post my Quiltique hauls on instagram to keep friends updated on my Quarantine journey and not only did Quiltique like my post but SENT ME A CARD IN THE MAIL WITH A FABRIC HEART!!! That touched my soul beyond belief
