I wouldn’t have posted this if I didn’t see the situation for myself.
I have been a regular customer at La Bonita for a while, but I have felt increasingly uncomfortable due to assumptions made by some staff members. I am a biracial woman (Black and white), with no Hispanic background, yet I’ve noticed that I am often treated with dismissiveness or even rudeness, seemingly due to a perception that I am Latina and should speak Spanish. I speak only English, and it’s disheartening to experience a double standard where my requests are often misunderstood or ignored, while other English-speaking customers are served without issue.
A recent experience highlighted this when I asked for a simple order in English and faced unnecessary difficulty and dismissal. Watching other customers who are visibly white receive prompt and courteous service in English only reinforced my sense that I was being treated differently based on assumptions about my heritage and language abilities.
La Bonita, like any business, serves a diverse community, and I urge management to remind staff that visual assumptions are unreliable and unfair. Customers should be treated with respect, regardless of background or appearance, and communication should be handled courteously, without bias. It’s disappointing to feel alienated in a place where I shop regularly, especially when this could be addressed with more inclusive customer service.

Read moreGoing to check this store since it was around the corner from where we were, we decided to stop to get some groceries for dinner the meat department was great we'll supplied and prices were ok. Produce was good clean and the prices were ok. I decide to get a Agua fresca, which they sale on the juice section. I was asking to sample the water since it was strawberry and blueberry, and I've never tried it before. I decided to ask for a second sampling of the Mamey water, at which this point Leonor M, decided that it was too much of a request and gave me the nastiest look of disdain, I asked if it was too much of a request and she said you can only sample one, she was talking to another employee and I must've interrupted their conversation because she again gave me the nastiest look and used a demanding tone asking what was it that i wanted. I decided to take a small mamey water. The other employee was right in the way of the debit terminal and I asked if I could have some space. He stayed right next to me and even added jokingly ""hey, I know your pin number now"".. this was my personal experience at this location, if you want to avoid Horrendous customer service avoid at all cost the juice section on La Bonita Henderson, and specially Leonor M. After checking out the rest of the groceries everything went perfect. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Cashier Name: Leonor M CO160 #2109...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I love the supermarket. I was very happy when it opened in Henderson and shop there quite often, at least once a week. Today I was treated with such disrespect, it was ridiculous. I was pulled out of line and sent to the customer service desk to check out, as the store was very busy. The checkout person, didn’t even acknowledge me, started checking out my items. A man approached from right behind me stood right behind me and started a conversation with her and she completely ignored me served him, and came back to checking my items out. When the total came up it had $.10 I search for $.10 to make it an even number, I want to give it to her and she pulled her palm away just staring at me. It fell on the floor I said I just dropped $.10, she completely ignored me just stared at me. I took another $.10 out of my wallet gave it to her, she put it in the cash but still gave me the change without the $.10.I took my bags put them in my cart and walked away. There was no point in even interacting with this person. I have never been treated in 55 years with such disregard and disrespect anywhere.
This is a wonderful supermarket it has a great selection of fruits and vegetables However to me it’s not worth the shoddy Customer Service I...
