What my parents and I witnessed the other night from one of your employees (jessica) was despicable and embarrassing to say the least! She has the worst customer service!! Thankfully she was not our server this time but because we were seated right next to a huge party of what it seemed to be all elderly folks we couldn’t help but to listen to the way she was talking to them. Not only was she being very rude and condescending at one point to some of the guests from that big group who from what we gathered they were asking for different drinks which she denied them of, we clearly heard her when she said to them /No, you’re just getting water!/ Nasty nasty attitude . Are you kidding me? Why is this behavior okay with management? We also heard her yelling at the cooks in a very disrespectful and demeaning way to the point where we couldn’t enjoy our dinner. Her lack of empathy and professionalism behavior is totally unacceptable.
We have been coming to this location for over 2 years we love the food but this particular server was the reason why we stopped coming here during breakfast time. We have witnessed her ln several occasions verbally mistreating other staff. She was actually our server a few months back and she had the most disgusting attitude towards my parents when it was time to order our drinks. My grandfather joined us soon after we had already ordered our drinks and he couldnt decide fast enough so she said to him //Do you know what you want because im very busy right now// She seemed very bothered as if we were such an inconvenience. She kept rushing him telling him in a rudely manner //to speak louder// because she couldn’t hear him. Yes we understand it was during busy hours but that does not give her or anyone else the right to treat us that way. as if we were begging for free food. We asked for a different server which she then immediately snatched the menus off our table rolling her eyes at us and said //good luck with that because obviously im not the problem, you are!// As she was walking away we asked to speak to the manager which her reply was //Ok whatever//
Disgusting disgusting attitude. she then walked straight to a younger man who we assumed was the manager but they both walked towards the back and im pretty positive they were both laughing with a smirk and never came back. We asked the hostess to get the manager over because we were very disappointed and felt we were treated very poorly and wanted to addressed that matter asap. When the young lady came back she was clearly embarrassed when she told us that this manager by the name of Thomas said he didnt have the time right now and for us to leave our contact info and he would call us when hes “not busy” and we have not heard from him or anyone from management. Something needs to be done. we love this place definitely love the food, big portions, and delicious pies and thats the main reason we keep coming back, but we only go during dinner time now. The ambiance and great atmosphere at night time is totally different from the mornings. We are very observant and to see how the night staff actually enjoy working together as a team, always helping each other with no animosity whatsoever and most importantly the respect they show one another is always very pleasant to see. Big thanks to our sweet server Ms. Eva who has always been very respectful, very caring and attentive to us, always greeting us with the biggest smile even when shes not our server. Always making grandpa laugh with her funny jokes but most importantly she always makes us feel at home. She definitely saved the night....
Read moreOn October 6, 2024, my partner and I dined at the Black Bear Diner located at 2751 N Green Valley Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89014. This was our second visit—the first being for breakfast, during which we had a much better experience.
During this visit, the service was notably slow due to what our server, Eva, mentioned was a staffing shortage. While the restaurant was busy, it wasn’t overwhelmingly so. My partner ordered the breaded fried chicken steak, and I ordered the chicken club. Unfortunately, the fried chicken steak was undercooked, with visible red meat and an unpleasant taste. My chicken club, though more acceptable, did not make up for the issue with my partner’s meal.
Eva, who provided excellent service throughout, offered to replace my partner’s meal. We requested a chicken club in exchange. However, Eva returned to inform us that the manager refused the request, citing a large party that had just arrived. This response left us feeling both disappointed and uncomfortable with how the situation was handled.
Eva went above and beyond by only charging us for the two sodas, totaling $4.00, and I left her a $15.00 tip in appreciation of her professionalism and gesture. Despite this, the overall experience was unacceptable. We felt that our concerns were dismissed, and we were treated indifferently by the management.
Although I wasn’t able to capture a photo of the undercooked chicken in time, I can attest to the fact that it was served in an unsafe condition. While we greatly appreciated Eva’s service, the lack of response and care from management was deeply disappointing.
Kudos to Eva for her outstanding service, but unfortunately, the experience as a whole was unsatisfactory.
Follow up: recently I was contacted by BBD management higher ups expressing concern about my experience at their Henderson Greenvally location; I am very pleased with their response and resolution to which it was not necessarily needed but i understand their efforts in making my future experience more pleasant...
Read moreI love coming to black bear diner because ive always enjoyed the food along with the service and how friendly everyone is but not this time i went. I attended yesterday morning to get a bad experience. Hector was the waiter which was an incredible waiter 20/20 for him but the lady that gave the food was horrible. First the food was given in a tiny plate with the syrup about to spill which when she handed it to me she spills the hot filled up syrup all over me! When she did that not only did she just walk away carelessly but she never cared to apologize or the bare minimum of asking if i was okay or handing me a napkin/rag. She left carelessly! Once Hector came to check if the food was all correct he saw i had syrup all over my pants, shirt, arm and hair and kindly rushed to give me a rag and apologized many times for an action he never caused. Hector was amazing but the other lady which didnt have her name tag all i know was that she had short blonde hair up to her shoulder. I work in restaurant industry and never in my life would i walk away carelessly from a situation like that. When my sister and i went up to tell her that next time if it happens again with another customer just to help out with handing a napkin or rag she did not care she said it didn't matter because the waiter was going to get one and rolled her eyes slightly, turned her back and kept walking. Not only was that disrespectful but what she said was very wrong when working in the restaurant industry you have to remember you are working as a team and not just solo plus in a situation like what i went through she represented the restaurant very badly and showed her poor restaurant services. I hope she honestly improves the way she treats customers and her...
