Big Mamas Wings & Things — Restaurant in Henderson

Big Mama's Wings and Things is a total hidden jewel in Henderson (and the entire Las Vegas valley). I want to leave a pretty long review, because the owners of this restaurant deserve it.

First of all, they keep this restaurant clean. I wanted to mention it right away because this is important for me. You could tell immediately that keeping a clean establishment is important to the owners too. Everything was clean, from the tables, chairs to the condiments, the floor... you name and they keep this place clean, clean, clean. They even made sure that you could see into the kitchen. I like that touch, since it shows that they don't have anything to hide.

Now for the food. Yum, yum, yum. I think they use family recipes because it is so different from other places. I was hoping for something different and got it. I am not sure what they do, but the breading is light and the sauces are flavorful. I always get the boneless combo. 6 tenders, fries and a drink for $12.95 (such a good deal). I also wanted to mention about those fries. They have the timing down so that when you get your order, the fries and tenders are both right out of the "oven" and piping hot. I have gone to too many places where the food isn't served at the same temperature. You get either hot (temperature) fries or wings, but not both. It happens all the time at BWW, the wings are hot and fresh, but the fries are room temp. (or vice versa). Not here, at Big Mama's, the fries and wings are delivered perfectly. The food is "made to order" which I love. Kudos. I haven't had their crab fries yet, but I will next time.

The service? Nice and professional. I could tell that this is a family-owned business who cares about their reputation. It looks like the owners are always there, which is awesome because they do a quality check before you get served.

The location is a bit tricky, they are tucked away in a strip shopping center on Green Valley Pkwy, near Sunset Station casino and Galleria at Sunset mall. In a way, it works well, because parking is a breeze.

Big Mama's Wing and Things IS on my regular rotation of local restaurants. They are worth the drive from Summerlin to Henderson. I don't need a side trip to make it worth the drive. Their food is so tasty!!!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to here. We rarely get such awesome places with a local flair and if we do, it is usually pricey or some silly theme. The value is definitely here and the food is delicious. I am starting to get in the mood for those tenders and fries. Looks like a trip to Big Mama's is on the agenda real soon.

I will NEVER order from this place again. I don’t know if it’s the cook that is on shift but the food was terrible. I ordered the fish dinner with fries and an additional 3 pieces of fish, the burger combo and the steak sandwich. Let me tell you!! The fish was burnt, looked like it was cooked in old grease, and double fried in it as well. It was overly salty and dried up! The burger combo I ordered was missing fries and the onions in the words of my 14 year old daughter, “tasted spoiled.” My son ordered the steak sandwich. In his words, “ Too much grease and the sandwich tasted spoiled. I took one bite and had to spite it out!”

I’m born and raised in California. I love me a good fried fish meal. I was highly disappointed. Happy to that I had finally found a place that I could get a good fish meal when I didn’t have time to fry the fish myself. Smh a huge disappointment because the lady I spoke with over the phone was wonderful. The Uber driver was even great, but the food sucked! You can’t play with people’s food. People can get sick. These chefs have to take more care and the restaurant need to make sure the products to cook with are fresh and not spoiled. Cook with love and patience, not in a rush without care. We had been in Vegas for a week and were tired of all the over priced food. We went beyond the strip to try and find some wings and came across this place. The reviews were mixed but I didn’t let that matter I still gave it a chance. We sure are glad we did. If we would have known about this place we would have definitely came multiple times. The lady that worked the counter was nice and made sure we understood what we were ordering. I had the traditional wings lemon pepper, we had traditional naked and also we had tenders in the lemon pepper. The flavor was amazing. The chicken was not over cooked. The wings still had a good crunch. The tenders were great to nice and juicy not over cooked. Couldn’t taste the grease.
