At first glance this is a pretty little necklace. However, it is rhodium plated over base metal. Rhodium plating is a wonderful way to brighten sterling silver and keep it from tarnishing. It is also used on white gold to brighten the color. This necklace is made of a base alloy metal with a very thin plating. At first, I thought the silver had become tarnished from sitting in the shop. Then I read the package insert and realized there is no silver in the necklace. There is no way to bring the luster back to the chain because the plating rubs off easily (as noted in the care instructions). The rhodium around the pearl appears to be painted on and a little piece flaked off easily when I took it out of the box. The packaging is beautiful and the "Survivor" message is what caught my friend's eye and caused him to buy it as a Christmas gift for me. If the necklace had been made with quality materials and workmanship, it would have been beautiful. Worse than the disappointing necklace is the total absence of customer service at the Trendy Truck. Their policy is no returns or exchanges without a receipt even after Christmas. They would not even exchange it for the amount of the lowest sale price. I definitely understand the need for small shops to minimize returns, but all shops should expect some receiptless exchanges after Christmas. Offering gift receipts is not a guarantee that the recipient will receive one with the item. So instead of fostering goodwill and two repeat customers, they lost a larger sale today and any possibility of repeat business from...
Read moreHonest review. The business itself deserves 5 stars. It is great local boutique for gifts and unique finds. The low star is for the customer service. I have frequented the business on several accounts in hope my experience would be different. Maybe perhaps I came in on the wrong staffing day but each time it has not been pleasant. And I was profiled. I tried to give it a benefit of a doubt. On one visit the young lady assisted me with at the pandora counter in which a made a purchase the experience was shameful on their end because she was so afraid and judge-mental that I would take something she forgot to ring me out one of my items ( in which I was unaware). I received a call midway home alerting me of the mistake and immediately returned to the store to have it corrected and the sale girl had the audacity to imply that I took without paying intentionally. Yesterday another young lady was so afraid to show me another item after asking to be shown the item , she had to call someone on the phone that resulted in a 15 min phone conversation that went no where discussing the item. In result of myself and husband leaving. I went and purchased multiple items for gifts at the original location at a local mall. Unfortunately a wonderfully local concept business has staff that not partial to assisting a diverse clientele. Many will comment and feel free. Diversity is a thing and each of us wants to be treated respectfully with...
Read moreThe Trinity trunk is a cute little shop. As much busier than I expected to be at 11:00 on a Monday, soda hard time getting the attention of staff to get me something from the back. However, their stock is amazing, they have adorable things, and it's well laid out. I specifically went there to get some Nora Fleming minis, and the dish that has been retired but they still had in stock. That being said I left with 20 things that were not on my list. overall I wish there staff was a bit more attentive, until I walked out with over $200 worth of purchases, the staff seemed to have no time for me. I will go back again, give them another chance, but mostly I'll go back again because I love...
