This happened around 5pm August 2nd in the afternoon. We came in the store to buy Drinkin Buds as I enjoy the brand very much. I asked the cashier where I can find this brand as I needed some direction as to where this drink was kept in the store. As I was away from my husband -a tall male worker in his mid thirties (I'm guessing) approached me He then asked me about my husbands eyes and why they are red- The worker said my husband is weird looking which was so insulting -it was just over all very uncomfortable for me and invasive as my husband just got out of work as he worked a 14 hour day (where he works they have fans that blow dust in his eyes constantly resulting In dry eyes that are puffy and irritated) . The last thing I want is for him to feel ostracized on the basis of his "looks". I told the worker my husband is just tired from working if he must know and that I didn't have any idea why he asked me this question also why are you asking me and not my husband Sir? He then told me that he could refuse service to anyone and then thanked me for clearing the confusion up for him. I shouldn't have to explain or "clear up" my husband's irritated and or damaged eyes to a worker at Pour Vous. This was a very odd experience today and it almost felt like an interrogation like I was supposed to tell him everything about my husbands eyes and why they are red. It was just uncomfortable. Imagine walking into Pour Vous - getting cornered in the store while your trying to find the drink brand you like and questioned about your husbands eyes and why they look "red" then being told that he has authority to refuse service to me based on my husbands red eyes? I left bewildered and confused and my husband had no idea this question was asked of me as I told him in the car what happened -and he wondered why the worker didn't just ask him directly about his eyes if it seemed to pose as such an issue. Do better Pour Vous- know...
Read morePretty disappointed with my visit today. Came in roughly a week ago and saw that they had a rare release of one of my favorite rum brands called Foursquare, the expression from them being called “Equipoise”.Pour Vous has usually had a pretty small rum selection so when I saw they had been getting Foursquare in, it caught my attention and it felt like a pay off as I have always tried to stay reasonably loyal to them and pay attention to the bottles they get in. I asked the worker Monday if they would be getting any in this week as they were sold out, and he told me they should by Wednesday or Friday. I came Wednesday, and they did not have any. I then came today, Friday, and none was on the shelf. I went to go check with one of the employees, I figured they were probably out of it which isn’t a big deal, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask if they could check their inventory. I asked the employee who responded with “Is it on the shelf?” I responded “no ma’m”, then she snarkly stated “Then we don’t have it, maybe next week”. It just felt like a slap in the face to not atleast check your inventory on the computer real quick, especially for a bottle that could produce a $200 sale. I would have totally been cool with it had she not responded the way she did. I was pretty disappointed so I hit up a liquor store in Nashville(not going to name here because i’m not leaving this review to advertise for other liquor stores, im just leaving honest feedback so that pour vous may improve on customer service). The Nashville liquor store did not have the bottle on the shelf initially, but the gentleman there was kind enough to check his computer and found that he had one more bottle remaining in his backstock, and for $20 cheaper. I genuinely think pour vous can improve, as they do have some good staff here and their selection seems to be gradually improving over time, but its probably going to be a long while...
Read moreThis place is absolutely great! The place is kept extremely clean with a wide variety of wines, spirits and beers. Friendly staff eager to help but extremely respectful of boundaries.
I was looking for a bottle of white wine. I was reading labels and many of the labels either were not what I wanted or had some story that did not tell me about the wine. Infuriating and confusing for me.
A team member saw my confusion and the frustration brewing and ask politely to help. I refused the help and they were kind, understanding and gave me space to fight this demon alone.
I ultimately picked this Chardonnay because in my frustration and feeling of hopelessness. I noticed a sign that said staff picks. I was so relieved. I could get help without talking to someone about a subject I am completely ignorant about. I found a staff pick that suited my needs and price-point.
I dont know the staff picks helped me a lot. The fact I was able to still pick a wine without trying to explain to someone that I dont know what I am looking for. Without being forced or persuaded into buying something because I am in a conversation I have no business being in faking knowledge and understanding and ending up picking something I hate. Not sure if that would be the result but better safe then stupid.
Moral is I was able and given the space to figure it out on my own. The fact that the wine tasted really good helped. If I picked a bad one. More self loathing but Id get over it because I made the bed. It just felt good. I did it by myself with only a little help. High five myself. Leave me alone.
This wine was a staff pick and hit the spot. No description on the label just a wonderful story. Id say a Chardonnay that taste good and mildly fruity under $20. Im a wine light weight and felt it after 1.5 glasses poured like a server. Not to the brim you animal....
