This park is a destination! What a treat! The park is lovingly and thoughtfully designed for kids of all ages - and all ages were happily playing alongside each other on a busy Memorial Day weekend.

I appreciated that the larger play structure had several interconnected paths - when we came to a challenging crossing like wobbly bridge or net, my child could be adventurous and climb across, and I could get to him by walking across another connector. Smart!

There were several unique features here that I haven’t seen often in other parks like the dual zip lines, the wheelchair swing, and the spinning and rocking toys.

The artificial turf that undulates throughout the playground makes it a welcoming and soft place for play. I noticed several kids going without shoes - that’s how soft it is! The green hills are fun for the kids to run up and down and the parents to perch atop for an eagle eye view of the activities. The plentiful sun shades are welcome additions as well.

My only negative comment is the restrooms. You can tell that while the playground is new, the restrooms are woefully outdated. The mens restroom is closed (for repair?), and I assumed that a porta-potty was supposed to serve them. However, I saw a father have to take his 3 year old daughter to to the porta-potty. Maybe consider turning the sole functioning restroom into a unisex family restroom? Modern fathers take their children to the restroom (and change diapers!) too, and they need appropriate...

Veteran Park is a beautiful 200-acre park located in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The park is home to a variety of amenities, including a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and a fishing pond. The park is also home to a number of memorials dedicated to veterans of all wars. Veteran Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, and it is also a fitting tribute to those who have served our country.

Here are some of the things you can do at Veteran Park:

Go for a walk or run on the walking trails. Have a picnic lunch in one of the picnic areas. Play on the playground with your children. Fish in the pond. Visit the memorials dedicated...

UPDATE: The new playground is aaaammmaazing! Beautiful, fun, interactive, amazing park. The skate rinks are awesome, my husband goes to play hockey very often. The kids and I tag along occasionally but the playground is lacking. I hate that it is sand and not mulch, it makes for filthy kids especially if it has recently rained. I also wish there was more shade around the playground. There is a nice short walk path, if you want to cross a road it continues back behind a neighborhood but I have never wanted to cross that road. The bathrooms are air conditioned/heated according to weather which is amazing and have always...

This new park is amazing. My kids were happy we were finally able to make it over. They have so many things for the kids to do and it's special needs kid friendly!!!! Even for those in wheel chairs. Having 2 kiddos on the autism spectrum...this park really made me smile today and I needed a win. Another plus is that there is no sand....it's astroturf I believe. It's definitely a cool place to hang out for older kids too because there is a skate section and hockey area. Super fun times!

What a wonderful park for families with young children. We drove past it on our way to our hotel and decided to double back. Though our sons are past the targeted age of the design and equipment, they still managed to have a good bit of fun running around. Plenty of benches and covered areas for all. Get off your bum bum and take your kids here so they can play while you get some fresh air!
