Chocolate Canopy — Attraction in Hilton Head Island

My wife, children and I visited the Chocolate Canopy as part of a tour and we were amazed at finding this gem on Hilton Head Island. The owner, Chris, gave us a brief overview of the way they make chocolates and how their product differs from what you will find in a grocery store. Simply put: Chris and his wife know more about chocolate than most people will ever forget! He told us that there are three keys to making chocolates: keeping the temperature of the store/kitchen between 65-68 degrees Fahrenheit, keeping the humidity below 50% and keeping the air circulating well so that the chocolate doesn't absorb any odors. I could go on and on with all the facts Chris shared, but the best part were the chocolates that they make. We purchased several items from the display case and they taste incredible! And to top it all off, the owners deliver incredible service that you won't find in many shops today. We will definitely make the Chocolate Canopy a regular stop on our annual vacation to Hilton...

Smells like chocolate when you walk through the door. Yum! Just yum. Friendly staff and mouth watering chocolate behind the glass. Dark chocolate to your right and milk chocolate to your left. There are prepackaged sets around the store. My eyes were only for the things behind the counter.

The price per pound is as usual, HOWEVER, I do appreciate that it’s across the board and not depending on the piece of sweet unlike some places where the price for certain pieces are one thing and other pieces are another.

The perfect place for treats or presents to bring back from HHI. I could’ve bought everything in the store and the employees were very personable and sweet. They were very accommodating and built me a milk and dark chocolate mix box in no time at all. I bought a toffee piece for the road and it was delicious and full of crunchy toffee pieces. They have great shore themed chocolate or gummy offerings that were absolutely adorable. Also the store was impeccably clean and well organized. I will definitely return...
